Chapter Five
Rain poured on my face, I felt weak like I had been ripped up and thrown away, my muscles ached begging for mercy as I ran in and out of trees, so rogues wouldn't sniff me out easily, I wasn't educated but I did have common sense. I stopped near a small stream, shifting back into human and drinking the water with my scruffy, scarred hands, I needed to plan my route, my future.
I covered my scent, with little tips written behind the map that the twins had given me, once I was sure that no one could suspect me of being inhumane, I walked cautiously onto human land, the streets lights were on and little flies danced around them, the silence was welcoming as I got closer who further investigation. I walked around the different roads, my fingers brushed past the baker's shop and the cobblers next door. Everything was dead like my hope.
It took me a good 20 minutes before I came in contact with life in the human town. A hotel. The rain had me drenched and all I needed was a shower and somewhere to stay. I knocked on the door, hurting my wrist in the process, a small old woman opened it and gasped loudly. "My poor girl!" She lightly held my arms, pulling me into the warmth. "Henry" She called out someone's name, as she covered me with a thin blanket. "Get this girl a room" The man, Henry raised his eyebrow when he saw me dripping. He came closer to me, "What's your name?" His voice was deep. I tried to talk but my throat shut on itself instead, I shivered and whispered "Mia". Henry turned to the old woman. "Ma, room 6 is free" He said, as the woman frantically looked through a big record book and through keys. She looked up and smiled before leading me up a long staircase.
I pulled out the cash, desperately collecting up the notes. The old woman's fingers wrapped themselves around my fingers. "It's on the house, now get dried and sleep before you get a cold" Her eyes twinkled showing motherly love. "You can stay here as long as you need" She walked away as I explored the room and walked into the shower and eased the pain in my back with the warm water. Who knew humans could be so nice.

The night had been one of the hardest yet by far the easiest nights of my short lived 17 years. I walked down the hotel's creaky stairs and into a small kitchen where I ran face first into Henry. "I'm sorry" I gulped while rubbing my nose. He was around 30-ish and patted my head "You okay?" He asked worried. "I'll be fine" I walked over to the old woman, "Thank you" I whispered as I gave her a hug, the smell of soap and flowers wanted me to stay in that position forever. Creepy. "Anytime sweetheart." She grinned taking me to a nearby table. "Breakfast?" She asked, I didn't want to be a burden and quickly shook my head. "I'm eating elsewhere, with a friend" I made a lame excuse and took a step back. "In my 65 years, I now how to tell if someone's lying" She winked while squeezing my shoulder. "But I'll let it pass"
I left the hotel, feeling sorry for the old woman, I wasn't planning on returning to the hotel. I needed to keep moving forward, my pack, ex-pack would come into this town to buy supplies, if Aaron did come in contact with me, he'd kill me without hesitation. I knew that, because I want to do the same to him. I knew my feelings for craving vengeance were already born inside me.
You can't let the thoughts of revenge fully control and take over you, Mia. You will not turn into your father.
My wolf was my only comfort as I walked through the human town, stopping to buy myself new outfits, so I can get rid of my ex-pack's scent, and got canned food; beans, beef, soup and spaghetti. The evening before I even realised was upon me, this time I had nowhere to go until I registered on exactly how I could get my closure.
I felt the Earth below my feet, guide me back to the woods, where my vampire instincts hunted down a deer, such a helpless creature with big eyes begging for mercy as I chased it through the trees before finally grabbing and tearing it to pieces. I guess being ruthless runs in the family. I watched the dying animal, try once more to keep it's heart beating but it never tried again, the heart was in the grasp of my bloody fingers. I looked at it with pity. "Sorry" I whispered into the wild, closing the deer's empty, lifeless eyes.
The blood was smeared all over my clothes so I stripped them and wore a new pair of tee shirt and jeans. I bit into my arm allowing drop of my own blood to mix in with the deers, overall, my blood held more strength and completely devoured and mixed in with the deers, giving it my scent. I ripped the clothes into shreds and threw them metres away from where I was banished from my pack. I smiled weakly and ran. Bark had gotten under my nails causing pain to tingle in my fingers. I climbed the tree, higher and higher, never looking down always being guided my wolf.
The best closure and revenge is slow and steady.
And then I watched, soon the foul smell of the dead will invite everyone to want to come and investigate.
Aaron's P.O.V
My eyes were closed with heartbreak as I remembered Mia, all my wolf desired to do was rip me apart and search for his mate. I regretted giving her a second chance, I should've killed her, right there and then. If I had maybe I wouldn't be suffering now, my hands clenched into tight fists. I wanted to hunt her, torture her and witness her suffering for causing me to become so weak, so consumed in her that I couldn't focus on my next steps, steps that will ensure my position as Alpha.
I tensed up as I felt someone run outside my bedroom. "Aaron!" Blake flung open the door. "Hurry!" He grabbed my arm , pulling me off the bed. "What happened?" I asked rhetorically because as soon as I was outside, I smelt it. Blood. Lots of blood. The others were already at the borders by the time I myself made it. "Move" I ordered and looked at what had caused such a fuss. My heart twisted as I picked up Mia's clothes ripped and torn apart, from the crafty art, nothing could've done this except a monster. I howled loudly into the air screaming with excruciating pain. She was gone, around the patch we found pieces of bloody meat. Mia was gone for good and I wasn't the one to send her to hell.
I felt disappointed, I needed to kill her for reporting such high charges against my mother after causing her death. My throat died as I ripped small trees from their roots, exercising all the hate I had for her. My sister. My Mate.
Mia's P.O.V
I watched with emotionless eyes as Aaron screamed, he had finally suffered as much as I wanted him to after he rejected me, that one person who demanded me to eat and covered me as I slept, I was blinded by stupidity but this was my closure. Now I will never have to come back to my home again but when my eyes turned to the others, my heart bled for them. They got Aaron as their Alpha, the one man incapable of protecting his sister. I watched as they returned inside the pack borders. Goodbye. My brother. My Mate.
A/N: I feel bad. I feel really bad after what Mia does to the Deer. Who's your favourite character so far... or does everyone just hate everyone. ಥ_ಥ
