Chapter Nine
Mia's P.O.V
I would be lying if I said things hadn't improved, yes I was being given a hard shoulder by some vampires like Stephen and Blaze but other's were sweet like candy, take Alex as an example. It had been just over a month and he had already taught me how to make my vampire side strong and control 'the hunger'. I hid behind a large hedge and waited for him, adrenaline rushed through my veins and with everything I had, pounced on my poor victim. I bounced over and over again as the groans continued. "Oi" A voice startled me from my bouncing, Blaze was stood over us with his arms crossed a straight line perfectly drawn across his forehead. "Get off him, NOW" Blaze's eyes got darker as I stood up and smiled sheepishly.
Alex then stood up and cracked his backbone. "What do you think you two are doing?" Blaze asked, unimpressed by our childish behaviour. "Having fun, something you must not be familiar with" I patted his back "That's okay, old man, it's fine. Don't worry" Alex chuckled behind me while Blaze threw at me daggers. "Calvin's back" Blaze looked at Alex with emotionless eyes, but those two words made Alex freeze on the spot. "Who's Calvin?" I asked and why did he just make Alex look as if someone threw at him ice. Still with a creased face, Blaze turned back to me, "My brother" the way he words slipped out of his mouth made me think of enemies like a relation that shouldn't be uttered in the territory. "He can't be that bad" I simply stated, looking at the two guys with confusion. "Neither can yours" Blaze spat walking away, as he left me to rot on the crime scene.
Rage boiled inside me, my wolf wanted to rip Blaze's head right off his neck but the strong grip, Alex had on my shoulder calmed the monsters stirring inside me. He had mentioned several times that there was no chance I could stand up to Blaze, even though he was like only a couple of years older than I was, the power he had consumed from the vampire world was far greater than I could imagine. If Blaze wanted, I will be no more on this Earth and this time it'll be for real.
"Are you okay?" I asked Alex, he was sat down with his head in his hands, he looked up slowly and gave me a reassuring weak smile, "I will be" He nodded "I'm going to Blaze, I need some info" He quietly opened a door and went back into the building as I turned to explore the perimeters, it still bought me that sense of belonging like my first day as a trespasser. I started my travel through large branches of trees and long grass, along the way, I ripped raspberries and strawberries from the bushes. Just like any other day, yummy.
I sat besides a small stream and watched the water follow quietly, the calm noises of nature relaxed my thoughts and allowed to me to make decisions, it had been a month but every night, I could still hear my screams as a little girl, being chased by four large black wolves, cornered then brutally attacked. I has started to walk again along the borders when I realised that my favourite spot was preoccupied by several cars, long black cars with dark windows, my eyes scanned around the vehicles, no specific movement. I tilted my head before walking casually across the land, before I heard a low snarl.
I felt a hand grab a good section of my hair and pull me across to where the vampire hideout was. I let out a horrid shout for help but it only caused the stranger to grip onto my hair tighter. "You smell of dog" The person's voice was deep and filled with anger. He continued to drag me across the floor, causing friction to burn me. I screamed and to my surprise the stranger dropped me, I felt liquid run down the side of my forehead, I knew I was bleeding as soon as, vampires came out of their rooms. "Blaze" The person called loudly "Why the fuck is there a dog on your land?" He roared. Blaze walked up to him but instead of seeing his face I was greeted by his shoes "She's a hybrid." Blaze stated grabbing my arm and pulling me up. "Calvin" Blaze added causing the world to invert before I turned around to face Blaze's brother.
Calvin's eyes turned red "I don't care, she's half of them. Blaze, kill her this instant before I do" Calvin opened his mouth to show me 2 long, bright white fangs and titled his head smiling. "Stay still, it gets painful" Calvin was about to sink his canines into my neck but Blaze had already pointed at his face a long sword. "I'm the leader of Fallen Monsters, not you. I make the rules" His eyes were filled with anger as he spat at his brother. "You make rules, I make the laws" Calvin faked a yawn before looking back at me and my neck and nipped at the skin. "Let her go, Calvin" Blaze warned and I felt my eyes getting heavier, I turned to stare at Calvin.
I felt him freeze under my glare, making my vampire-self smile in triumph. Calvin grabbed my chin and looked down into my eyes. "Give me all you got." I simply stated kind of bored "But just remember that if you do, you're no better than the 'dogs'" I quoted dogs, Calvin pushed me away and walked in the opposite direction.
Blaze pulled me into a hug, "You're so good with words and all. How could you be mute?" He asked, muttering into my ear. "You're amazing" He whispered, when I heard the door open behind us, and a cough caused us to jump.
"Is this what you do? Spin men inside your web and toy with our feelings?" Steam was exploding from Alex's ears as he pulled me away from Blaze.
