Wow!! I'm so sorry!! I've been gone for way too long! Anyways, here's my update. I haven't written in a while so I'm sorry for any mistakes, I wasn't a good writer in the beginning anyways😂 thanks for dealing with the typos and horrible writing skills guys. FYI I'm way too pumped for fall and Halloween, don't be alarmed by the sudden jump in of it all 😂😂. Also! I'd like to mention that I won't be sharing the same story with my cousin anymore, we'll have the same characters in our stories with a different plot line but it has been to hard to catch up with each other. It will just make it easier this way, so sorry if there's any confusion! :( I hope you enjoy this chapter!! 💗💗
_____________________________"Seriously Iris?" I step down from a stool and turn to look at Nathan who's currently judging my obsession with Halloween. "What? Who cares if I'm excited, this is Halloween we're talking about here. If you wanna be friends with me then you are gonna have to deal with it." I smirk and turn back and setting fake potions and spell books on my bookshelf. "First of all, we both know my plan is to be more than friends with you, and second of all, you're a dork but I find it cute." Nathan says with a chuckle and rests his head on mine while I'm faced towards the shelf. "Mhm, nice sweet talking but you're gonna need to try harder than that." I laugh lightly and slide out of his grip. "I'm assuming you already have your costume planned out." He laughs. "Actually, no. I don't...which is surprising." I laugh. By now I'd have already looked at thousands of costumes..okay so I'm a bit of a Halloween and fall fanatic. People have their different enjoyments. "Well I can't wait to see what you come up with." He smiles and lets out a light laugh. I don't know about that.. "Well one thing about me? I'm not one to dress up all cute for Halloween, sure every once in a while I will, but I'm into the original idea of Halloween. Which also means, don't be surprised if I decide to scare the shit out of you." I say, finishing the final decorations for my room. "Now I'm less excited and more worried..." he says while sitting down on my bed. "You're the one who made the mistake of liking me." I say putting my hands up in defense and plopping down onto the bed. "Nah that wasn't a mistake." He chuckles. "Yeah yeah whatever, anyways..what should we do now?" I ask and turn to Nathan who's smirking at me. "In your dreams you big flirt." I laugh pushing his face away as I sit up. "I'm gonna go find something to eat." I smile leaving the room. "She'll be mine one day.." he sighs and smiles following behind. "Heard that creep." Rolling my eyes, I giggle at him while he dramatically puts his hand over his heart. "How rude." He pouts. He did not just. "Nice Full House reference Nathan." This kid I swear, he's so adorable how does he not have a girl friend.. "Something on your mind?" He says curiously. Snapping out of my thoughts I look up at him. "Huh? Wait. What no! I'm fine." I reply crossing my arms. "Mhm, yeah right. I've seen that look before." Nathan I'll kill you. "Tell me." He says smiling
"Nathan no."
"Iris yes."
"I said no."
"And I said yes!"
"You're a kid."
"And you're a dork."
"Hey!! You're the dork"
"I'm not the Halloween freak."
"......touché."
He smiles satisfied. "Got any food?" He asks looking through the cabinets. "Oh no help yourself Nathan." I say sarcastically and laugh. "Thanks sweetheart, I was." He smirks.
Why is it suddenly hot in here.. "Iris.. you okay? Your face is red." He chuckles looking at me. That's embarrassing. "Yup! Just fine I'm perfectly fine." Just then the door opens and my mom walks in. "How come whenever I come home you two are in the kitchen?" She giggles setting groceries down on the counter with her keys. "Well what do you expect? We're starving teenagers." She looks at me and raises and eyebrow. "Well Ms. starving teenager, you two can help bring in the groceries. There's more in the car." She says putting food away. "Yes mam!" Nathan responds walking out the front door. What a kid. Laughing lightly, I turn and follow behind him. After setting the last bag on the counter I begin helping my mom put the food and drinks away. "So you're off work early." I say looking at her. "We have a guest coming over for dinner." She smiles and throws away the extra bags. "Does this guest happen to be a certain man you've been seeing?.." I ask curiously. "Yup. Nathan sweetie, would you like to have dinner with us tonight?" She offers looking to Nathan. "Why not. Thanks Ms. Shields." He gets so polite around other parents. Speaking of parents.. I almost feel like I know nothing about his, he's still so mysterious.. "Right Iris?" What? "Hello Iris?" Quickly I snap out of my thoughts and look up. "What?" Im so confused right now. My mom laughs and shakes her head. "Never mind, go finish your homework or whatever. I'll be making dinner down here." She says smiling. "It's Friday, I don't have homework." Nathan says smiling happily. "Yeah me neither, but we do have a test Monday sooo, come on Nathan lets go study." I smile and pull him upstairs. "You're no fun Iris." He groans walking into my room behind me. "Thanks, not the first time someone said that." I laugh.
It's been about 30 mins and while I'm trying to study for our test, Nathan just goofs around. "Hey Iris?." I stop and hold my place in the book to look at him. "Yeah what's up?" I say glancing up at him for a moment then write notes down from the book. "Would you be my girlfriend?" Everything I was just writing or thinking about goes blank in my mind and I look to Nathan in utter shock. "I'm sorry what." He chuckles. "I know you hate the cheesy stuff so I thought I'd just make it more casual. Was this not the right time? Way too casual isn't it." Before he started to mumble on I just smiled happily and planted my lips onto his.
Just kidding! That is definitely not what happened. Being my dorky self as Nathan likes to call it. I was still staring at this gorgeous guy who's way out of my league just waiting for him to say he was kidding or something. Now lets go to what was really going on.
"Would you be my girlfriend?" Everything I was just writing or thinking about goes blank in my mind and I look to Nathan in utter shock. "I'm sorry what." He chuckles. "I know you hate the cheesy stuff so I thought I'd just make it more casual. Was this not the right time?.....why are you staring at me like you just saw someone go streaking across a baseball field.." Yes ladies and gentlemen this is how my teenage love story goes. One minute the guy of your dreams asks you to be his girlfriend, then the next he's questioning why I look like I saw a naked man run across a baseball field. I snap out of it and laugh. "No it's alright sorry, you just..caught me off guard that's all. But you seriously sure you want to go through with dating me?" I ask still confused. "I'm as serious as you get with Halloween." He smiles. "Damn, that's serious." I laugh and smile at him. "So does this mean?.." He questions. "Yes Nathan, I'll be your girlfriend." Just I finish my answer, Nathan leans in and kisses me by surprise.
