"So how are things up in Washington?? You haven't called me at all since you've gotten there!" Jasmine says frowning. We were face timing on my mac book. It's 1am here and way earlier where she's at, Adam left a few hours ago. "I'm really sorry! It's been super busy out here...you should come and visit winter break! We miss you and a lot has happened that I need to fill you in on." I smile while hugging a pillow close to my chest. "I miss you guys too! I totally should, that is, if my mom lets me step outside the house." She laughs. "Oh no, what'd you do this time?" She's always getting herself into trouble. She's a bit of a party animal. Yes I said party animal. "She's overreacting. I just went to Brice Connors house for a party, drank a little...might have come home with a few hickeys on my neck." This is no surprise to me, Jasmines gorgeous, she gets hit on almost everywhere we go. No she isn't a slut either. I mean yeah she ... just likes to have fun that's all. She'd never hurt a single fly and everyone at our high school loves her because she's so nice. Me on the other hand, yeah I'm nice but I was never someone to F around with. My ex decided to cheat on me, I walked in on them and yeah I didn't hesitate to deck him in the face. After that I didn't really trust the whole "L" word because it isn't the first time I've been cheated on. Once the word got around that I knocked him out people laughed at him and were afraid to date me. That didn't bother me much though, the single life is the easier life or was because now..I'm in a relationship again. The only reason I took that chance to start dating again was because I moved across the country and got another chance to start fresh. I'm getting way too deep into my past, lets get back to the story. "You make me worry sometimes." I sigh and smile. "Well, don't worry about me. I'll be okay." She giggles. "Mhm..well you should really ask your mom if you can, but maybe when things cool down with you being grounded for the 1000th time and all." I shake my head laughing. "Hey! You're supposed to be on my side!" She pouts. "I'm on the side that's right." I laugh. "Whatever, so any big news?" She smirks. "Nope, I'll tell you when you come down for winter break." I love killing her with curiosity. "I don't even know if I can come down yet! That's not fair." She groans and falls back on the bed. "Sorry Jazzy, ya gotta deal with it." I smile and yawn. "Well it's almost 2:00am here, I'm pretty tired. I'll text you more for sure." I smile. "You better, night Iris love you!" She smiles and waves bye. "Night Jazzy love you too!" Smiling, I hang up and shut my computer. "Man I'm tired." I sigh and get ready for bed.

The next morning was super slow, I didn't hear from Nathan. This made me super worried because he usually texts me first thing in the morning, I don't want to sound needy because I'm not, it just wasn't like him. I wonder if I said something wrong by asking him to let me come over. "Iris? What's wrong? You've been staring at your breakfast for the past 5 minutes." What?  "Oh, sorry mom. Just haven't heard from Nathan that's all." She smiles sweetly and sits down across from me. "Well I wouldn't worry about it sweetie, maybe something important came up...so when were you going to tell me that Nathan and you were dating?" My fork fell from my hands as I look up at my mom. "Huh? How'd you find out??" Her smile turns to a giggle. "I couldn't help spying on you two when you decided to walk him out, it was so cute. I saw that kiss on the forehead and hug, you guys are together aren't you." She smiles happily. "Great to know my moms one of those relationship stalkers." I laugh and grab my fork from the ground. "Yeah well it's your fault for not telling me in the first place." She shrugs and eats her food ignoring my comment. I feel my phone vibrate from my pocket as I quickly pull it out in hopes that it's Nathan. Which it is thank goodness. "Hello?"
"Hey Iris, sorry for not calling you. I got caught up with some serious family stuff." Serious family stuff?.. "Everything okay??" Now he just has my worried. Quietly, I step outside to talk to him. I've never heard a tone like this in his voice. "Can you come over?.. I can't leave my house right now, just really need someone to talk to." His voice was shaky and I heard a slight crack. I felt my anxiety and worry on falling off the scale as I nodded. As if he knew that I was saying yes. "I mean yeah, yes I'm on my way right now. What's your address?" Without hesitation I grabbed my keys and drove over right after he told me. I'd have to explain why I left in such a rush to my mom later but that didn't matter at this point.
