When you look at the Earth, what do you see? Do you see, thankfulness? Kindness? Or do you see, war? Global warming? The thing that powers the world is love. Without love we wouldn't have survived, but then millions wouldn't have broken hearts. Love is everywhere and at a welsh high school where there are repeated fights, crying teachers and lots of emos, this school is full of love. Yes you might hate someone so what? In this school there are more people in love then people being hurt.
The bell sounds for the beginning of assembly on the first day back. I am shaking all over thinking about what this year is going to be about. Last year was total disaster I chose the wrong guy and ended up breaking his heart! Woops. Well he was a idiot anyway.
If you didn't know already (or didn't read my last book) my name is Darcy Jackson and I go to Lionen High School in Wales. Amy Morris is my best friend since we were four, she is amazing she has brown hair with some new blond dip-dye but she's still dead shy of everyone apart from people her own age. We just spotted each other. We run at each other as fast we can and collide in a girl explosion hug. 'Omg it is so great to see you!' She says smiling wildly at me. Behind her Lucy Andrews and Lavender Wells are walking up to us, I noticed Lucy has new glasses which match her brown ponytail. Lavender just has the same smug look with her purple glasses and warm dark skin.
We all smile 'Hey guys notice anything different?' Amy says, so we all fuss over how Amy's new dip-dye is the same shade of my hair. We get called into assembly after a long wait in the corridor and being squashed into walls by year 11s who now think they run the place. We all sit down in random seats as we don't know which forms we are in. Our replacement head of year is Mr Johan. He is our normal history teacher but our actual head of year, Mr King is ill so it looks like we are stuck with Mr I'm-the-teacher-so-shut-up. Trust me I mean it, in the first class of year 7 we had to write a list of Mr Johan's rules and how he is always right.
He gives us the normal notices about uniform and behaviour which no one cares about anyway, and then he starts calling out who's in which form. This year we are having one extra form than last time because there is so many of us. He starts of with 8A then 8B 8C and 8D and then he calls out the form that we are most likely to be in, the one we were in last year form E, He calls out our names I cross my fingers and I hold my breath. Lucy is in, I'm in, Lavander is in, and then Amy is in. We all breath.
As we walk to go out the door but our new form teacher stop us. Mr Wood is a middle age man with a tattoo on his arm and he always has keys in his hand. He teaches woodwork in technology, which is ironic since is name is Mr Wood. He says to us 'Girls can you show around the new girl May for today,' he points at a tall girl walking down the corridor with a blonde ponytail and a bag covered in skulls which freaks me out a bit. I nod and walk towards her. I explain to her more loudly then I meant to. 'Hey May,' She looks down at my smiling face and smiles back she has a nice friendly face. Amy, Lavender and Lucy come join me to say hi.
We explain who we are 'This is Lucy she is the clever one of the bunch,' I point at her and she waves, 'This is Lavender she is the diva. This is Amy the shy one but noisy one, trust me.' They all wave at her. 'And this is Darcy the kinda baby of us even know she is the oldest, but she is tiny and really light believe it or not.' Explains Lucy, I smile.
