This chapter is a little short, but I thought it got the job done :) The picture is of Grace and the twins!

After dinner, we all decide to go back to the house Caspar and a bunch of other friends are staying in. I see the same faces from last night, and they greet me like I’m a good friend. There’s so much that I don’t remember… they all know me, but I don’t know all of them. I’ve forgotten a few names and can’t recognize some faces, but I smile and hug everyone that greets me.

“You should have seen Jack at the amusement park today,” Zoe giggles as she sips her fruity drink, “This girl working there was all over him.”

I shift in my seat, trying not to show my discomfort.

“He’s such a flirt,” Grace refills her glass with a smile.

Zoe leans forward in laughter, “But he really wasn’t today. It was like he just shrugged her off. I was proud of Jacky.”

“Is he dating anyone?” Tyler asks.

“I don’t think so,” Zoe shakes her head before looking over to me, “Do you want more wine?”

“Sure,” I hold out my empty glass.

There’s a short break in the conversation while Zoe refills my cup. I can’t stop thinking about Jack with that girl. She was all over him and he shrugged her off? Is that because of me?

“So…” Tyler directs his attention to me, “What’s going on with you and Finn?”

            “What do you mean?”

            “You live in D.C. right?”

I take a big sip and nod my head.

“And Finn is going back to London in four days.”

My heart starts to ache, “Yeah… I know.”

“Well what are you two going to do? Is it just a hot fling?” he starts to chuckle before downing another shot.

“I don’t know… um. He hasn’t talked about it,” I rub the back of my neck.

“What are you two doing, then?” Zoe questions.

            “We’re just…” I shrug, “Having some fun.”

“Is that all you want?” Zoe raises her eyebrows.

“What’s wrong with having a little fun?” Tyler snaps at Zoe, “Especially with someone as dreamy as Finn.”

“There’s nothing wrong with it, I’m not saying that. I just think Finn likes you a lot.”

“Lay off, guys,” Grace interrupts, “Ashley can do whatever she wants. And right now, I think she wants to stop this conversation. Come on.”

Grace stands up and latches onto my hand, pulling me out of my seat and away from Zoe and Tyler. She leads me out onto the balcony where she takes a seat in one of the patio chairs and rests her feet up on the table. I lean against the railing and hold my glass of wine securely. I feel ambushed.

“I’m sorry about Tyler. When he gets some tequila in him he becomes a little rude,” Grace sighs heavily.

“It’s okay. I mean they’re right,” I take deep breaths; “This whole thing with the boys is stupid. They’re going to leave for London and I’ll never see them again.”

“Oh you don’t know that,” she scoffs.

“They have a life back in England! And I have a life in D.C. This whole thing is stupid… I don’t know what I’m doing. It’s like I keep forgetting that I’m on vacation!”

“What do you mean they? Are you referring to Finn and Jack?”

My eyes meet with Grace’s when I realize my mistake. We were talking about my relationship with Finn inside, and now I’m talking about both of the twins.

            “I’m friends with Jack…”

“You’re more than friends with him, aren’t you?” she exclaims.

            “Shh! No… no I didn’t say that.”

“You didn’t have to. I knew something was going on between you and Jack.”

            “What? How?”

“Well for starters, I saw you two making out on my patio a few nights ago. Then you had a private talk in the kitchen…? I just had a hunch.”

Tears swell up in my eyes, “I don’t know what I’m doing, Grace.”

“Oh sweetie,” she stands up and wraps her arms around me.

“It started out so innocent and simple… and now I’m lying to Finn about my relationship with Jack. And Jack wants to be with me so bad that he doesn’t care if he goes behind Finn’s back.”

“So… you’re screwing the Harries twins? Both of them?”

I wipe away the tears and nod my head.

Grace’s eyes widen, “There are worse things that could have happened on your vacation, you know.”

She starts to laugh and I shake my head, “It doesn’t matter. They’ll leave me in four days… Jack and Finn won’t even look back. I have nothing to worry about.”
