Jack started planning for the trip right away, even though I kept telling him I couldn’t do it. He thought that if he showed me how perfect the vacation would be that I would give in and say yes. Jack thought right.
This part of France looks heavenly with small, cozy little cottages and tall mountains, dusted lightly with glowing white snow. I don’t know how to ski but he offered to teach me, which sounds both cute and scary. The only problem is that I’ll have to flat out lie to Finn, and I’ll need my Mom’s help to do that.
I decide not to think about it until I have to, and I focus all of my time on being the best girlfriend possible to Finn. I cook breakfast the morning that my Mom is scheduled to arrive in London. Her flight doesn’t land until noon, and it’s eight in the morning now.
I make two big, fluffy pancakes for Finn and even fry up some bacon. I start digging into my grapefruit as I arrange Finn’s food on his plate tastefully. I hear him coming down the stairs and I quickly assess myself. I push my hair behind my ears and straighten my skirt. I look up right as Jack walks into the kitchen.
“Jack?” I say bewildered because he never gets up this early.
“Morning, love,” he grins at me madly and I blush, “Smells great in here.”
He uses his hands to rip apart the pancakes and stuff the chunks in his mouth. I grab the plate away from him and almost gasp in anger as he snatches some bacon away.
“I made this for Finn…” I whisper woefully.
“Oh, my bad,” he says sarcastically, “Maybe we should just share it.”
Jack moves up behind me and I feel his hand plant firmly on my ass and he gives it a hard squeeze. I suck in air and hide a guilty smile as he whispers in my ear, “We’re good at sharing things.”
“Jack,” I give him a heated glare before tossing the food into the trash bin.
“What’d you do that for? That was perfectly good food, just wasted!”
“It wasn’t for sharing. Not today. Today has to be perfectly normal. Okay?”
Jack pauses and stares at me with a mixture of anger and understanding. He nods his head and turns around before leaving the kitchen. I feel bad for being so harsh with him, but I’m a nervous wreck with my Mom coming to visit. And Jack’s ridiculously cute desire to take me to France is making me even more stressed.
I decide to remake the breakfast for Finn. It’s not right to just give up on the idea because Jack woke up early and ate half of it. The pancakes finish quickly and the bacon is frying sharply on the stove in front of me when Finn comes downstairs. He’s wearing maroon colored boxers with a black robe hung loosely over his shoulders. His bare torso is exposed and I feel flustered.
Finn’s hair is a mess and he’s wearing his reading glasses that always make me weak at the knees. His body is a soft tan color and he smiles at me brightly.
“Are you making me breakfast?” he chuckles softly.
“Yep,” I nod my head as I try to keep my eyes off of him, “How was your sleep?”
I can feel his tall, warm body stand behind me. Finn wraps his arms around my waist and his sweet breath moves down the side of my neck. His full lips tickle my ear and he smells masculine and amazing. It’s been so long since Finn spent a casual day with me without any distractions.
“My sleep was lonely,” he whispers, “I’ve missed you, Ash.”
I smile, “I miss you too. You’ve been so busy lately.”
“I know, I think I may have taken on more responsibility than I was ready for,” he laughs smoothly.
“You’re doing a great job,” I turn around so that I’m facing him, his hands still around my waist and my palms rubbing his strong chest, “Don’t second guess yourself.”
“You don’t think I spend too much time working?”
“I didn’t say that,” I smile at him, “But at least you’re spending your time doing something you love.”
Finn smiles so big that his small wrinkles appear around his eyes. He lowers his head and gives me a gentle, stimulating kiss. His hands move swiftly and pull up the hem of my skirt.
“I would rather be doing someone else I love,” he says before letting his robe fall down to the floor.
“Wait, what?” my mind pushes through my horniness so I can think clearly, “Did you just say that?”
Finn only smiles confidently, “How can I not love you?”
“What about all those things you said at the hotel? About being young… and…”
“Back at the hotel in California?” he leans in closer, “I’ve fallen so much harder for you than I ever thought I could. California was a joke compared to now.”
“Really?” I grin like an idiot.
“Yes. I’m quite fond of you, Ashely,” he says with a wink.
My body goes numb in happiness and I pull down his boxers in a blink of an eye.
