You wake up and go to the shower to wash away yesterday. You hum to yourself as you wash your hair and clean yourself until you walk back to your room. You press play on your music and smile when House of Cards begins playing. You brush your hair and sing to the song before getting dressed. You put on a (F/C) top and jeans with your leather jacket before walking out. You stop when you see someone on your landing looking around. Assuming they are looking for your father you open the door and receive a shock. The red head smiles at you before grabbing your wrist and dragging you back to your room.

"We need to talk."

She closes the door behind the both of you and presses play on a playlist before sitting on my bed. She looks up and you see tears in her eyes. You immediately sit in front of her and she takes a deep breath before beginning.

"Something isn't right with Jace. (Y/N) do you think he hates me now?"

"Clary why would you even doubt that he loves you. I see how much he loves you by how protective of you he is and how gentle he is with you. Without a doubt I can say that Jace loves you."

"But he's been acting so distant and every time I try to talk to him he walks in the opposite direction. What could all of that mean?"

"I believe he is still grieving for Max and is trying to figure out how to deal with his grief. Just give him some time Clary and he'll be back to normal."

"Okay thank you (Y/N) this means a lot." She says before leaving the loft ahead of you.

You walk down the street without paying attention to anything going on around you. That's when you get a shock because you've been walking for hours and it's dark outside now. You're favourite time of the day has come and you give a small smile until you hear voices.

You stay in the shadows and you are surprised to see Simon with people surrounding him. He's a vampire so you stay in the shadows hoping he can protect himself. One of the men attack him and you hear him gasp as the man is hit with what should have hit Simon and then he turns into salt. The others run off and you see someone jump down behind Simon and you're surprised to see that it's Jace. You turn around and begin walking back home knowing they didn't realise that you were there.

You get home and your father is sleeping on the couch once again. You sigh and lay a blanket over him before going to your room. When you close the door your eyes widen in surprise before you can mask your emotions. Lilith is sitting in one of the chairs in your room waiting for you.

"Lilith. What pleasure do I have in seeing you tonight?"

"Sebastian will be raised in a few days sweet child. He will be waiting for you when he awakens."

You nod and she melts away as if she wasn't there in the first place. You pull some paper out of a drawer and begin writing the letters you need. You leave one for Izzy, Alec, and your father telling them what you know and not to worry. You give a sad smile at the thought of them worrying about you, but it can't be helped.

You get up and go for another walk, but this time your feet lead you to the Silent City. You sit in front of the statue of the angel with the cup and stare at it losing yourself in your thoughts. A hand ruffles your hair and you smile before looking up at Brother Zachariah. He smiles at you before speaking in your mind.

"(Y/N) what brings you here tonight?"

"Something is happening in a few days and I know that my father will be worried about me. If you see him after that night please tell him I'll be okay, but to stay safe. He knows where I'll be when he thinks about it. You know what, the heart makes people do things they never thought they would do. Things I never thought I could do, but now I know that a person is never completely good nor completely evil. Instead actions by the world make us more evil or more good."

"Well-spoken for someone so young. How did you figure this out?"

"Personal experience is how I found out, but I think you know this too don't you?"

"Yes I know this well. Farewell (Y/N) until we meet again. Whether you are on my side or not."

"Farewell Brother Zachariah."

You walk away feeling lighter than you have in a long time and walk home where Alec and your father are waiting. You walk in the door and they both look up from the couch. You feel their relief flood through you and give a small smile. It fades when you think about how they will feel tomorrow, but you can't think about that right now. You walk to your room and grab their letters and put them in your father's room before going to tell them you're going to the Institute.

"Dad I need to go to the Institute, but I'll be right back."

"Why do you need to go to the Institute so late at night for?"

"I need to give something to Izzy that can't wait." He nods giving you permission and you smile before leaving.

You quickly walk down the sidewalk towards the Institute hoping nothing attacks you. You just want to give her the letter and go home so you can sleep. You can't look sleep deprived at the party in a few days since Jocelyn is already worried about you. Plus you don't want Sebastian to think his death caused a scar to the point where you weren't sleeping.

You ride up the elevator and quietly pad across the floor to Izzy's room and open the door. She sleeps peacefully as you place the letter on her dresser where she won't find it until after you've left. You give a small smile at the sight of your parabati sleeping so peacefully when in a few days everything will be nothing but chaos. You brush the hair out of her face and leave as quietly as you came. Riding down in the elevator your eyes prick with tears, but you don't cry. Once you get home you crawl in your bed and fall asleep.
