Shining with a purpose, the sun warmed two little brown girls that were running through blades of lime green grass. The chubby young girl with a big curly afro turned to her friend. "Come on, River!" The six year old called, waving her arms. "Don't let the big bad doggie get you!" About twenty feet behind her, a smaller girl with wide brown eyes was running as fast as her small legs could carry her. "Don't let him get me, Deeley!" The big bad dog in question was a eight week old Husky puppy named Dover. He was trotting behind the girls playfully, entertained by their squeals and rambunctiosness. "Rivey and Deeley, y'all out there bothering the dog again?" Diesel came from the back with a 'Kiss the Cook' apron on. He picked up Delilah and put her on his shoulders. She smacked his face with both hands playfully and said, "Don't be picking me up like I'm a big baby, Uncle! I coulda threwed up on you!"

"You big, but you ain't no baby," Diesel teased. For that smart remark, Delilah started beating him in the head while River started punching his legs.

"Man, Diesel, how your tank head ass get jumped by your goddaughter and your own seed? I knew you was sad, but I ain't thought you was pathetic." Kronos came out the back with a 'Will Work For Bacon' apron on, a scarf around his head, and a pack of steaks. Delilah frowned.

"Daddy, why you got on Mommy's scarf?"

"So the sweat won't roll into my eyes, babygirl," he explained.

"You need to take that off," River placed her hands on her hips. "You look like my auntie and besides, your head so big the sweat gon evaporate by the time it get to your eyes."

Diesel burst out laughing. Kronos acted like he was about to beat River up, but she shrieked and protested, "No, no! Stop! Me and Delilah gotta show y'all our batterina routine! Come on Deeley!"

Diesel put her down and the two friends watched as their daughters performed an extraordinarily cute ballet routine. At one point, River plied and Delilah crawled through. River helped her up and held her arms like a halo over Delilah's head as she twirled.

For the end of the piece, Delilah and River did one more turn and then put their arms together like a heart. As Diesel and Kronos clapped proudly, Delilah and River collapsed into a hug. "Thank you for teaching me to be a batterina I love you, bestie Deeley!

"I love you too, Rivey."

Can we get back to the story at hand, please? I'm about to throw up in my mouth.

Anyway.

When Gunz started dog walking Sour, I felt as if I was in some sort of fucked up time vortex. Everything around me was moving in slow motion, but I felt as if I was still at the same speed. I could hear my heart beating, and it felt like it took all my strength to just breathe.
