I keep opening my eyes every now and then. Even the tiniest of sound brings me back to consciousness, everytime I did; I would check the time and yet again it's another mission; wrestling with my mind to fall asleep.

This time the suspension of consciousness fails to take over and that's when I've had enough; forcing myself to get out of bed, before standing up on my feet, I take a glimpse of the time, which read five p.m.

It has only been four hours since I got back to my apartment; trying to catch up on last night's sleep.

I unlock my phone seeing that I have six missed calls that I didn't bother picking up and two text messages from Aaron. I didn't have the energy to read them or call back as my mind is too tired.

I stand on my feet which are numb, I use the walls and furniture to assist me with my walking as my legs are unsteady. I step onto my clothes I had on earlier that day, now lying disorderly on the bedroom floor.

Once I reach the kitchen sink, I see my eszopiclone capsules scattered all over the place. I pick up about three, putting it in my mouth and wash them down with a glass of water. Soon enough I begin to hear knocks, I just stand there motionlessly asking myself whether they are real or in my head due to lack of sleep.

Whatever be the case, I wasn't expecting anyone. The knock never stopped, each knock is more aggressive than the last. Only when a familiar male voice continuously calls my name did I feebly make my way to the door.

When I open, this Caucasian man stands before me, but long before I could familiarise him, he pulls me into an embrace.

"Oh, Jazmine, I was worried sick."

I pick up his tone is mangled with anxiety, once he releases me, I blankly stare him; my eyelids blink in a sloppy manner and I have a hard time trying to figure out who he is.

"Who are you?" I unknowingly breathe out.

He drops an eyebrow, slightly frowning at my inquire, obviously he did not see it coming.

"What do you mean 'Who am I?' It's me, Eugene."

Finally, it all comes back to me. "Eu - what the hell are you doing here?"

"Why do you look like hell? Not to mention this place."

I begin to walk away from the door. "Listen, I'm not in the state of mind to argue or explain myself." Despite my reply, he continues to jump into conclusions. "Are you on drugs again?"

Just from that, my world comes crashing down. "What the hell! Why everytime there's an issue going on in my life, you imply that drugs are always involved?"

"Because, you just left the country without saying a word and afterwards you don't bother answering my calls."

"Fuck you! Fuck you all the way to hell." I begin to feel slightly light-headed. "Listen! I'm not in the mood right now, you'll get your answers as soon as I wake up, for the time been help yourself to some soda or television or something." I am about to walk to my bedroom when I hear Eugene trailing me.

"Jazmine, wait a minute."

I disregard him, my vision becomes dim and blurry followed by pitch black consuming my sight. My body way out of my control collapses; hearing Eugene's voice that calls out to me hastily faints at every passing second.

I hear a beeping sound, and a warm sensation intertwining with my right fingers.

When my eyes open, they automatically scan the surroundings; witnessing a drip that wasn't connected, an oxygen mask that assists me and a heart monitor; coming back with the outcome that is a hospital ward. And the person that holds my hand is Eugene, his expression is somewhat worried.

I couldn't help it, but I feel my lips trace into a smile and my voice forces itself out despite how weary it is.

"Hey."

He also most immediately looks up towards my direction; exhaling a sigh of relief. "Hey, you alright?"

I make a light nod. "What happened?"

"You collapsed and when the doctor examined you, he said that you were exhausted and had an overdose of Lunesta."

"I see, how long have I been out?"

"Four hours."

I just merely respond with nods.

"Uh - listen, I'm going to go and get you some things you might need. So, is there anything, besides toiletries and clothes you want me to bring along?"

"Well, I'm not really a fan of hospital food so..."

Eugene releases a small chuckle before inquiring "Anything in particular?"

"Nah, surprise me."

"I'll make sure it's your favourite." He says, leaving a peck on my forehead.

"If that mask wasn't in the way, I'd eat you up." He teases, to which I giggle daring him to do it.

He hovers over me and takes off the mask, starting off with placing feathery light pecks onto my lips, to which I follow his lead, parting my lips in a tab; granting him the access to have a venture of exploration within my mouth, capturing his neck in an embrace and he caresses my cheek gently in this process; when was the last time I felt a gentle touch? Our kiss of endearment becomes sensual and if we didn't stop soon, it would lead to something more.

Luckily, he sorta reads my mind, we both part our lips from each other; both of us gasping for air, our lips wet with spittle and I free him from my embrace. "It's been long, hasn't it?"

I show off a slight beam making a nod; as he lightly whips off the saliva on my lips with his thumb.

"Get some rest okay?"

"Okay."

"If you need anything, I'm just a call away." He lastly says; giving me one last peck before whispering 'I love you' to which I return the phrase.

As he leaves the room, I find my landing into my phone and dialed Aaron's cellular ID number.

"Hello, Jazmine?"

""Hey, yeah, it's me Mr Craig."

"Are you alright? I have been trying to reach you the whole day, I even went to check up on you, but found that one's home."

"Yeah - I just called to let you know that you shouldn't worry, I'm only at a hospital."

"Hospital? Wait a minute, are you hurt? What happened?"

"Calm down, nothing serious, I just collapsed from exhaustion that's all."

"Which hospital?I'm coming over immediately, just to be sure."
