I flick my eyes open due to the perceiving sound of the door opening; expecting it to be Eugene and it is matter of fact not him, but Aaron and for some strange reason, I feel a sense of security. He brought a bouquet of flowers, placing them in a vase that is on the side stand to which I comment on.

"I don't like flowers."

Aaron makes a fleeting look towards my direction, slipping a smile at the corners of his lips.

"Well, hello to you too Jazmine."

"You didn't have to come."

"I wanted to." He says in an insisting behaviour. "So, why don't you like flowers?" He inquires while taking a seat, obviously interested in the comment I made earlier.

"I just don't."

"No, particular reason?"

"No."

"How peculiar today's youth is. But, are you fine?"

I make a feeble nod. "I just need some rest, that's all."

"Well then, I shall take my leave."

As Aaron rises from his seat, I feel my uncontroble hands grasp onto his wrist pleading with him to stay.

"You want me to stay?"

"Just until morning."

"Visiting hours are almost up."

"Just stick around."

"Alright." He says effortlessly and I'm starting to think that he just pities me.

"I feel more safer when you're around." I express, discovering my hand veil itself onto Aaron's entwined ones. I lightly scrutinise his facial gesture, noticing that he takes a glance, conveying to a brief questionable look before he disguises it with a smile.

"You said that you made some discoveries." I inquest; trying to get his mind of my actions.

"Yes, but I wouldn't want to bother you with it now, just get some rest." I make a small shrug and he asks to be excused to make a call.

The middle-aged man stumbles out of the ward with his cellular placed on his ear.

"Hey, Honey."

"Why are you calling?" Valerie inquires bitterly.

"Just letting you know that I won't be home anytime soon."

"Like always."

"I know you have questions, but I will answer them as soon as I get home." There is no answer from the other side " I love -" the cellular goes beep, and Aaron shakes his head at the fact that his wife hung up on him while expressing the passion phrase. He enters the ward, finding a sleeping Jazmine, at that very moment he soundlessly makes a reverse, closing the door to the canton; making his way to the exit.

Jazmine glares out of the window with a glass of water in one hand, taking a sip every now and then, she patiently waits for her mobile phone to notify her of a message from Eugene.

The clicking of the door makes her surrender her attention to it, expecting it to be Eugene and once again it wasn't, so she disregards Aaron who vigorously greets her and doesn't bother to return it.

"Oh, it's just you."

"Someone is not welcoming today."

"You ditched me, didn't you?"
