Chapter XXII: Turn Of Events

Later on, Amethyst walked
towards the dining room with Veruca and
Inu as she sets the bowl of
fruits beside the soup. She stood straight and
scanned around, sensing that
someone is missing.
She furrowed her brows a little.

"Aurora?" She asked.

"She has been outside
for awhile now. Talking with someone." Veruca replied.

Altair returned with few
glasses and set them on the table
while Inu laid his back on the floor, squirming around. Then, he stopped and relaxed before spitting the words out loud.

"I'm sooo hungry! I think I can eat a whole buffalo." Inu looked at Veruca in a strange way.

Veruca quivered as she made a nervous look.
"D-Don't look at me." She gulps.

Inu bend his paw up and down, making a sorry face. "I won't eat you, Veru. I was just joking around." He chuckled a little.

"Good to know." Veruca squinted her eyes, doubting his words.

Altair dragged the chair and sat down with his arm hanging ontop of the chair. Amethyst sighs quietly before sitting comfortably. After a moment of silence, Altair came up with an interesting topic and asked Inu.

"Oh, right!" Altair exclaimed
as he turned his gaze to Inu, staring at him with puzzled look.
"How's the battle practice goes? Did it end very well?"
His last statement made Inu's eyes rolled.

Amethyst perked up as she heard this.
"Really? Let's hear it, Inu." She was excited which Inu showed a troubled face.

Inu bit his lower lip. "Uh---How about Veruca?
She witnessed our practice! Ask her then." He pointed to Veruca, dodging away their curious questions.

Veruca frowned. "Don't pass it to me, Inu. You're the one their asking." She said with a blank look.

"Eh?" He furrowed his brows upward. "Fine!" Inu made an annoyed pout.

"Well.. what really happened is..." He lifted his paws.

Flashback begins...

Inu quickly regained his composure and shook the debris away from his head.
Aurora smirked and Inu saw her expression which may triggered Inu to attack her again.

She sighed deeply. "Let's get this over with" Aurora muttered before attacking Inu.

Aurora held out her hand as a pink-colored light shone and formed into a whip. She swinged it and grabbed his paw, making him flying off the ground and let the gravity bring him down. Inu landed the ground hard but he immediately rose up on his feet.

Inu went towards Aurora and started to claw attack her in any direction, at the same time Aurora dodged them with no sweat.

Immediately after that, Inu fortuitously scratched Aurora on her right shoulder, which made her winced from the pain. Caught off guard, Inu gave her another cut on her left cheek and instictively, Aurora quickly jumped away from Inu before giving another attack to slice her body to half and landed on a high rock boulder.

Inu turned to gaze towards her with gritted teeth. Aurora diverted her gaze from him to her wounded shoulder and touched her bleeding cut on her face.

'Not bad'. Aurora thought as she looked down at her tainted fingers. Getting amused by this, Aurora gave a smirk whilst extending her whip to make it a meter long. Inu held his ground, intimidating at the sharp sound of her whip.
