As Amethyst went back to rest more,
Altair walked towards the balcony and rested his chin above his palm.
Below, he spotted his familiar, Aquila. A small smile spreads across his face and leaps down from the two-storied house.
Altair landed with a loud thud and Aquila noticed him.
"Hey bud. How are you?" He smiles.
Altair held out a hand while Aquila
stared at him. Aquila then wiggles his
body, a sign that he's not okay. Altair
let out a sigh. Altair slid his hand inside his pocket and gave it to Aquila.
"Here, eat it. You'll feel much
better." Altair smiles again.
Aquila then peck the blue-glowing stone and swallows it. After that, the treat started to affect and all of his black and purple disappeared.
"You're welcome, bud." Altair said,
while petting him.
Aquila gave a shriek of delight and
Altair laughs.
"Good morning, Altair!" Veruca yells, galloping towards them.
"Ah! Morning to you too," Altair gapes at her, "V-Veru-ca?" and gave a perplexed look.
Veruca stops to her tracks, frowning.
"What? There's something on my face?"
"No," he continues, "Are you Veruca?" Altair asks.
"I am Veruca. What about it?" She asks, a little bit annoyed.
Altair scratch the nape of his neck,
"It was just me or you grew into an adult horse?" He tilted his head.
Veruca raise a brow, "What...? What are you driving at?"
"Well, you grew tall. Your wings got big and your mane was long." Altair explains.
"Wha-?!" Veruca jaw-dropped.
She walk towards the glass door and stares at herself with saucer eyes.
"Oh my--I waited for this for a dog's age! I finally reach my last stage! Ahahaha!"
Veruca yelps while jumping in extreme happiness.
"What's all the commotion? I'm trying to sleep here." Inu blurted out.
Altair and Veruca stares at him in atonishment.
"What are staring at?" Inu raise his brow, bewildered.
"You... you evolve!" Veruca exclaims.
Inu gives them a grin, "You're telling me. Hm!" He snuffed, confidently lifts
his head to the sideb
"Ehh? Hmm..." Veruca hums.
"You guys.."
Altair sweatdropped.
Veruca smiles widely, "I can't wait
to tell this to Amethyst!" She giggles happily.
Thus, Altair started to get worried.
"Amethyst" he mumbled. "Hey, where's Amethyst?" He asked.
Veruca and Inu exchanged glances before answering him. Veruca walked towards him and said, "She is---"
"She was resting." She was cut off by Aurora, who was leaning behind the doorway. Her face was serious and not making an eyecontact.
'Thank goodness.' Altair thought with a sigh of relief escaped from his lips.
