"Kyo-nii! Look what I drew!" Rio smiled happily at her big brother as she showed him the drawing of a bunny. "Do you like it?" She asked and Kyo nodded. "It's really good, you'll be a great artist one day"
Rio giggled and Kyoya came in the room, smiling softly. "Breakfast is ready" he said.
"We're coming-" Kyo stopped mid sentence as he turned to face Kyoya, his uncle looked different now, his skin was decomposed and he was groaning. Kyo then felt someone grab his shirt, he looked and saw that Rio looked the same as her uncle.
Kyo looked at them with complete shock and they both opened their mouths, getting closer.
"Grahh.."
Kyo woke up with a gasp, sweat running down his forehead as he panted softly.
The teen looked around and remembered everything that happened. 'That's right...' Kyo sighed and stood up and walked around the halls eventually reaching the roof.
Kyo looked at the garden and at the cross with a ribbon on it. 'Did they lose someone?' He thought to himself.
Kyo looked at the full moon that illuminated the night sky and after a while he turned around after hearing something. Standing at the entrance to the roof was Kurumi.
"Did I scare you?" She asked and Kyo shook his head. "No"
Kurumi looked at Kyo for a while. "Your eyes..."
"What about them?"
"You look like you've given up on life" Kurumi said and Kyo stared at her.
There was a long silence and Kyo finally replied. "If I did, I'd have been dead already. But I'll tell you that my eyes have always looked like this" Kyo thought about Tyler and Myu, when they first met him they commented on his eyes as well.
"Hey... Kurumi"
"Yeah?"
"Since we're up here and I don't know anything about you all, I will tell you a bit about me" Kyo looked up at the moon. "My sister was taken first and then my uncle also they were both put down by me"
Kyo's voice was soft and cold but Kurumi could tell that he was sad, she could hear the pain he was trying to hide.
"I used a baseball bat but switched to a sword because I didn't want to carry any burdens. If I kept it with me I would remember the good times up to the point of me killing them so I left my memories behind."
Kurumi looked at him. "I can relate to you when it comes to putting a loved one down... My senpai, who I loved... I killed him the day everything changed with a shovel and I use it to put down the others that lurk around the school"
Kyo was slightly surprised to hear that from her. "That's a huge burden to carry"
"I know but I want to do this" the girl replied.
Kyo reached to pat Kurumi's head, surprising her. "What are you doing?" She slightly blushed.
"You're strong Kurumi, I can tell. But even the strong have tears they refuse to shed" Kyo said. "I knows this may sound weird but I want you to cry, let out your feelings"
Kurumi didn't know when it started but tears flowed down her face and she clutched Kyo's shirt, crying against his chest. "Why did this happen?! Why do our lives have to be this way?!" She cried out.
Kyo let her pour out her feelings and replied. "I don't know... But sometimes all good things must come to an end"
Kurumi let go of Kyo and wiped her face, smiling. "Thanks, you're a pretty nice guy"
"Not really"
Kurumi punched his arm playfully. "Don't be like that. Anyway let's go back to sleep" she went back inside and Kyo followed her, looking at the cross one last time.
The two walked side by side in silence until Kurumi reached her room. "Goodnight" she said and closed the door. Kyo then went back to his room and fell back to sleep
