What Lies Beyond-Ch 25

''This Is Cruel, Unfair!'' I hissed, I paced back and forth in this cell and Then back at the woman I called ''Mother'' The Love of my life was trapped here, suffering without me and I wasn't allowed to do anything about it. She nodded simply and looked away. She jerked forward and looked towards the door. ''I must leave you now.'' She murmured and looked down. Aorabelle. She was here and I couldn't even see her yet! I balled my hands into fist and went to sit down. I felt it, The pain. I hated this feeling. The feeling of having something so close but you couldn't get to it. I grit my teeth and closed my eyes. Trying to shut everything out. I wished for something to happen, Possibly anything.



''So...This Aether thing?'' I looked at Jane, It was just me and Her, We'd been here for what had seemed like years, But had only been a few months. Jane hd Been infected with this...Thing and She'd die unless they figured out how to get it out of her. ''Causes you to reject force from the inside of your body?'' I asked Jane at breakfast. She shrugged. ''Let's not talk about it, I don't want to worry Thor.'' She whispered. I looked down at my plate. I could see why she didn't want to talk about it. What could be worse than Having otherworldly Cancer? I cringed, but not from my thoughts, But because the baby had kicked me in the side. ''It's almost time.'' Eir murmured and stroked my hair, ''When you say that, you mean-'' ''Any day now. You must stay in your nursery for the time being.'' She mumbled and suddenly, There was a shift. Eir and Jane looked at Each other and Thor Rushed into the dining room with Frigga. ''Miss foster, you must come with me.'' Frigga said. ''Eir.'' She called as she didn't look at us. ''Don't let me down.'' Eir grabbed my hand and pulled me. ''Come along, What ever is happening can't be too good.'' Eir halfway dragged me to the Nursery, She shut and locked the door as the commotion could suddenly be heard.

''Woah, What's going on?'' I asked holding my bump protectively. I turned to see out of the window. ''Wh- What are those?!'' Eir pulled me back from the window and sat me down on the bed before going to pull back the curtains. ''The Dark Elves have waged war on Us, On Asgard. We're all In terrible danger. That is why I need you to do everything I say.'' She sat me on the bed and bowed. ''I have to leave you for  second.'' I reached out for her, but she was already gone. On the other side, I heard a faint Click. one that I was All to Familiar with. I sighed and sauntered to the window to watch the chaos. For a second, A tiny second, I felt Time slow down as I felt the sharpest, most painful kick in my side.
