{ this is still continued from chapter 20}
After listening to music, Riley and I just talked. "So when did all this hate from online start happening?" Riley asked.
"Around when we were officially together I guess."
"Oh."
I could tell he felt bad. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine"
"I just can't stand people writing that awful stuff to you. I checked Facebook."
"I just won't check it anymore. It's pointless."
"Has anything happened on Instagram?"
"Just a little. I deleted the comments though."
"Good."
I paused for a minute while thinking on how to change my appearance for dinner. Even though I'm all about being yourself no matter what people think, it is Riley's dad, and I want to fix the impression he has on me. "I need a makeover."
"Well then you've come to the wrong place" he laughed. "Wait, why?"
"I want to make a good impression on your dad."
"No! I don't want you to change for him. You're perfect the way you are."
"Trust me, I wanna do it! I don't mind looking girly here and there" I winked.
"Haha okay. So where do we get different clothes?"
"We'll have to go shopping."
Riley's eyes brightened. He was the type of guy that wore brands. I have to admit he seems to know what he's doing when it comes to fashion.
"Let's go" he smirked.
"Mom, we're going out a while. We'll be back in time for dinner."
"Okay sweetie!"
~ at the mall~
"Where should we go? Some where with pretty dresses."
"Hmm...ah! '579'. They have the best dresses." Riley says.
I giggle at the fact that he knows where 'the best dresses' are. While walking he slowly grabs my hand. I look down at our hands and smile at him. Once we get to 579, I already see gorgeous dresses in the window. We walk in and Riley immediately starts searching. "So on a scale of 1-10 how girly are we talking?" He asks.
"Jessica x10" I laugh.
"Oh dang." He laughs. My eyes land on a denim dress. It's actually really cute! I imagined pairing it with a jacket and combat boots. But I have to ditch my normal fashion sense today. Riley comes up to me with a pink dress that has sparkles all at the top, that slowly fade out as it poofs into Tull. It was beautiful, but I'd never in a million years think I could pull it off. "This one." He smirks.
"Are you kidding me? Putting that on me is like putting perfume on a dirty sock"
"Just try it on. Trust me, you'll look amazing."
I take his word for it and walk to the dressing room. I slipped into the dress and zipped it up, relived it fit. I looked up into the mirror and gasped. "You done?" Riley called out. His eyes lightened as I walked out of the dressing room. I did a little twirl, "what do you think?"
"You look breathtaking"
"Thanks! I actually really love it!"
"Pink suits you." He winked.
"Aye, this doesn't mean I'm gonna be wearing stuff like this all the time, so don't get used to it."
We walked up the the check up line. Riley pulled out his wallet. "What are you doing?" I asked.
