Chapter 15: "She...Still Likes me"

School. Yay. At least its finally Friday.

It had been 2 days since dinner at Riley's, and I was already done with the looking girly thing. I waved my hair, put on an old green T-shirt, and denim shorts that were frayed at the ends. I completed my outfit with Converse.
Since it's always zero degrees in the school, I threw on a baggy black sweater that was slightly see-through.

School was the same boring thing, except for talking to Riley. I've completely blocked out people talking about us. I don't care anymore. Yeah, it sucks, but what can I do? I sat with Riley and his friends again. Jewel and Forest were sitting together. I couldn't help but glance at then every now and then during lunch. Oh no. He's going to break up with her soon. Or least that's what he told me earlier this week.

"I'll be right back" I said to Riley getting up. As I walked over to Forest and Jewl, a knot twisted in my gut.
Suck it up Taylor.

"hi guys!" I said sitting down awkwardly.

"Why are you here?" Jewel said coldly.

"What, I can't sit with my best friends?"

"You're not my best friend. You're a backstabber."

"Okay guys, stop. We can work this out." Forest said.

"Why are you even mad at me? I thought we cleared up everything about Forest and I."

Jewel stayed silent and looked away from me.

"Jewel, come on this is stupid." Forest said putting his hand on her shoulder.

"...okay fine. I was just jealous of all the time you've been spending with Riley. Then you and Forest had a movie night without me! I've just felt left out lately." Jewel confessed to me.

Wow. I hadn't noticed how we did kinda leave her out. Suddenly, I felt like the worst friend ever. "Oh my gosh, Jewel I'm so sorry. I promise you it won't happen again. You've always been an amazing friend to me, and I need to start being one back." I apologized.

She got up and hugged me, forgiving me. "Best friends?"

"Forever." She smiled.

After school, I went home and finished one essay out of the three assigned. I wanted to get them done throughout the week so I didn't end up cramming them all into one night, staying up til' 2 a.m. Like last year. *BUZZ*

Forest: wanna hang out?

Me: we have to see if Jewel can too! Remember?

Forest: I was just about to say thatttt

Me: your thumbs are too slow.

Forest: :P I'll be there soon. Call Jewel

"Hey! I was wondering if you wanted to come over. Forest is coming too."

"Thanks, but I can't. My mom's making me go to a stupid Christmas party to celebrate the beginning of December. I'm not going to know anyone there, it's going to be all adults."

"Aw that sucks. Do you have to?"

"Yep. I've already tried debating with my mom. She won't budge. I'll text you later though"

"Okay. Bye!"

While waiting, I doodled in my book out of boredness. The front door opens. "It's me!" Forest calls.

"Come up!"

"Hey Hey, Tay Tay." He says girly.

"Stop."
