Tomorrow school starts back up again, and the thought made my stomach twist. These past weeks have been crazy, fun, and at times boring. Life is literally 10000002463575322577 times better without school. I decided to make today worth it, and actually be productive. For my outfit, I put on a gray sweater and skinny jeans with black boots. I slipped on a couple necklaces and curled my hair. After putting little make up on, I had a bowl of cereal. "Hey sweetie!" My mom called as she walked out from her room.
"Hey mom. How are ya?"
"Alright. I'm just happy to be off today. I haven't gotten to do anything with you lately."
"I'm sorry, Mom. I promise we'll have a girl day soon." I smiled.
"Okay. You look nice! Are Forest and you going to meet up somewhere?" She winked.
"Nah, I'm going to the music store to get some new drumsticks. My old ones are busted."
"Ah I see. Well I'll see you later!" She said kissing my forehead."
Even though it was a bit of a walk, I made my way to the store. To make it more enjoyable, I listened to music. The sound of acoustic guitar filled my world.
I finally arrived, and opened the door. The store was pretty bare, as usual. A little bell rang as I shut the door. "Sam?" I yelled.
He popped out from his office.
"Taylor!" He hugged me tight. "How have you been? You rarely come in now."
"I know, I'm sorry. I have some big news! My band Pale Moon got a gig!"
"Really? That's amazing! Where?"
"Some café. I don't have all the details yet."
"Tell me when it is then. I want to be there!"
"For sure. So how's business been?"
"Alright I guess. People prefer to shop online nowadays so it's usually empty. This place has totally lost it's charm. Customers used to come in daily and test out instruments. Now I'm lucky if I can get 5 people in a day." He frowned.
"That's awful. I wish there was something I could do."
"Wait...maybe you can!" His eyes brightened.
"How?"
"What if your band played? We could advertise to get people to come!"
"Oh Sam, I don't know. We aren't exactly professional yet. Maybe you could find another band!"
"But other bands would want to be paid, you'd do it for free right?"
"Well yeah!"
"Then we have nothing to lose! Come on, for your big brother from another mother?"
I rolled my eyes. "Fine. I'll talk to the band about it. You can count on me."
"Perfect. So what did you need?"
"Just some drumsticks." I suddenly thought of Forest once I laid my eyes on tie dyed picks. He loves tie dye for some reason, yet he'll never wear it unless it's in dark colors. "Oh, and those picks!"
"Cool, I'll ring em' up."
We walked over to the front and he bagged my items. "So how are you and that Forest kid coming along? Is he treatin' you right?"
I giggled. "Yes, we're doing great. He's in my band."
"Y'all get along well? Working on music?" He asked as if it were strange.
"Totally! All three of us are on the same page when it comes to music. There's rarely any trouble. Yeah, we'll have disagreements, but nothing we can't handle."
