My alarm goes off 6:00 a.m.
Ugh, it's only Tuesday. I'm still stuck in my winter break schedule which consist of me waking up around ten in the afternoon. I didn't feel like looking extra cute or anything today, so I just wore a sweater with jeans and boots. The day dragged from the very beginning. A test in math, a pop quiz in science, and I have an essay due tomorrow. Yay. Honestly, this public school system thing isn't working for me.
My favorite part of the day came: lunch. "Hey Taylor!" Forest hugged me from behind.
"Hi! How'd you sleep last night?" I asked while ruffling my hand through his black hair.
"Okay, wished I was with you though. Every moment without you feels like moment without air." He said dramatically.
"Wow, poetic today are we?" I joked.
"Just a bit," he smiled showing his pearly whites. "So what are you doing later?"
"Going to Riley's. He invited me over."
"Ugh no." He scoffed.
"It's fine, Forest. We're cool remember?"
"I don't see how you can forgive him for everything he's done. He doesn't deserve this many chances. Why do you have to be nice?"
"You're right, but I'd rather have things smoothed out than all rigid."
"Just be careful. Make sure he doesn't make a move or anything."
"It'll be fine! Chill." I said before sipping my bottle of coke.
"Okay, okay."

School ended, so I got all my stuff together. Danny came up to me, with his winner smile that he wore upon his face most of the time. "Hey Taylor! Haven't talked to you in a while. How was your Christmas?"
"Great, I got to see a lot of my family. How was yours?"
"Same as yours, all that family crud. My grandma got me socks this year. I guess you could say I hit the jackpot."
I laughed. "Totally."
"Come on, Taylor!" Riley called from further down the hallway.
"I'll catch up with you later, bye!" I waved to Danny.
I caught up with Riley and we walked to his silver Honda. It's been a while since I was in his car. He opened my car door for me as I hopped in. "How was your day?" He asked casually.
"Stressful. Why are the teachers giving us such a hard time. It's been two weeks since my brain has worked."
He laughed, "I know right. At least you don't have all pre-a p classes. It's even worse."
"I can imagine. Why didn't you just take regular?"
"My parents made me. It looks good to colleges so you know, why not?"
"True" I agreed.
We were about half way to his house. I turned the radio on at a low volume because neither of us were talking, and it was getting slightly awkward.
"So...uh, you and Forest." He said with uncomfort.
Why does he have to bring that up? He's literally making things 100x more awkward than it already was.
"We're doing good. My band might have another gig." I said trying to change the subject.
"Oh yeah, why didn't you ever tell me you played the drums?" He asked.
