Zack POV
I groaned as I sat up, rubbing my aching back. Last night I came home late, by about 10 minutes, and father beat me over and over again. He just wouldn't stop. I'm pretty sure he continued even after I passed out.
I grabbed my shirt from where he threw it and made my way out of the Torture Room. (I feel like that was a nice name, what about you guys?) When I walked into mine, I took a quick glance at the clock. 7.30am. Shit, school starts at 8.00!
I jumped in the shower, ignoring the stinging on my skin as I washed the dried blood off my body. I grabbed a towel, stepped out if my shower, and started to dry myself. I quickly grabbed my razor and made three cuts on my wrist, rinsing the blood off, and began getting dressed. I grabbed my backpack and ran out the house, not bothering to eat.
I got to school a minute before the late bell was supposed to ring and went to my locker, only grabbing a notebook and pencil for Mr. Finn's class.
When I walked in, made sure to keep my head down. I couldn't let my friends know my secret, I don't know what they would do.
Without looking at my classmates, I took my seat and pulled out my phone. I scrolled through my pictures, needing something to do while waiting for Mr. Finn to arrive. A moment later, I felt a smack on my back, causing me to let out a yelp. I looked up at Freddy, who was staring at me with a worried look.
Quickly, I forced a laugh out.
"Zack," Tomika asked, "Are you okay?"(😂)
She placed a gentle hand on my shoulder, though even that made me want to scream in pain.
"Of course."
"Okay?" Though she didn't seem convinced.
Luckily, Mr. Finn decided that that was the perfect moment to arrive. For once, I was glad he was late. This time was to close.
And I can't let my secret get out.
My father would kill me.
Though, I kind of wish he did.
Then I could leave.
