Tomika POV
What will she do? What was that threat about? Does she like Freddy?
Back and forth, back and forth, back forth I went. I was biting my nails until nothing was left. My mind was overflowing with so many questions, it felt as if it were going to explode.
"Tomika! Calm down!" Freddy stood from his desk and walked over to me.
"I can't! What if she tells Summer!?! She'll hate me!"
"She wouldn't do that!"
"How do you know!?!" Crossing my arms, I glared into hazel eyes.
His beautiful eyes that I could just melt in. Those eyes that make me all warm and fuzzy inside. Those eyes that just make me want to pull him close and never let him go.
Snap out of it Tomika!
"Cause unlike you, I trust my friends! I trust they won't go around ruining our friendships and weird love triangles!"
"How do you know she's our friend? How do you know she's not messed up? How do you know she doesn't want to tear us apart!?!"
"It's Jozie."
"And?"
"SHE'S OUR FRIEND!"
"Really? Cause friends don't threaten each other!"
"How do you know she wasn't joking?"
"You didn't see her like I did! It's like she's obsessed with you or something!"
"What?"
I took a deep breath, trying ti calm myself down.
"Freddy, I think Jozie likes you." I stood up a little straighter, looking into his eyes. "And she won't stop til she has you."
I stared at the ground as an uncomfortable silence fell between us for a few moments before Freddy spoke again.
"Tomika, look at me."
"Yes?"
He walked closet until there was no space left. Then, unexpectedly, he pulled me into his arms, holding me close.
"She won't tell. Summer will never find out. We'll be fine." He whispered in my ear, making my knees weak.
"How do you know?"
"Because I love, and I would never let anything happen to you. I promise."
