Zack POV
Tomika wouldn't stop staring at me all morning-kind of like how I look at Jozie, but that's something else, totally not a crush. But yeah, anyways, back to Tomika. Her glare(if you could even call it that) was intense, as if she was trying to get me to screw up.
The lunch bell quickly brought me back to reality, shaking me from my thoughts. Silently, I put my guitar back, taking my seat.
Everyone gave me curious glances as to why I didn't go with them, though I guess their hunger outweighed my importance. I'm honestly not surprised though, it not like I'm important to anyone. Though, a certain brunette gave me one last look before leaving the room, leaving me.
As soon as she was gone, I jumped to my feet and ran to the other side of the classroom. I reached the windows where the sun was pouring in and stretched my arm to the one nearest to me. I wrenched it up and clamored out, dropping to the ground below.
As soon as I hit the dirt, I ran for it, sprinting home. I ran without taking a break, not even when my breathing caught or vision blurred. I ran and ran, up until I reached my door step. I swung open the front door to my house and was greeted by a living nightmare.
My father.
With a quick yank, I was pulled inside and sprawled onto the floor. Before I even had time to blink, a sudden pain burst on my back. Immediately, I knew what it was, the whip. The whip slapped my back over and over again, wearing out my sweater. For the second time today I couldn't see or breath. I just laid there, taking the pain.
I know I'm not allowed to move, I never am. So I just let him smack, punch, and kick me, being weak. Because I am weak. I always have been. And I always will be.
This is the part were I pass out.
