Dan's POV
The last day of the school year seemed to get here faster than I thought it would. I was excited, because it meant no school for the next few months/weeks, and I was free to do whatever I want with my time. My friends were looking forward to the holidays as well, and had already started making plans to meet up, and Mum has planned a few things for us to do as well. Phil is also looking forward to the holidays, since it means that we'll be able to some fun things together without school being an issue. His Mum was also planning to take Phil and Martyn away on holiday for a couple of days, and I was invited as well. I know that it's the holidays aren't going to last forever though, and the next school year would be starting in no time.

I suddenly awoke to the sound of my alarm, and groaned as I stretched my arm out to turn it off. I looked at Phil who was still asleep, his head on my chest. I smiled to myself as I ran my fingers through his hair and felt his head move as he woke.

"Morning" I said, my voice almost silent, but just loud enough that he could hear me.

"Morning" He responded. "Ready for the last day of the year?"

"Nope" I replied, as I get out of bed, wishing that I could just lay there for hours and sleep, but I couldn't. I then looked at the time once again, and realised that we only had thirty minutes to be fully ready and walk to school. We began running up, down and across the hallway as we rushed to get ready, panting from the lack of exercise, but it we're used to it by now, since it happens quite frequently. Once we were ready to go, we sprinted to school, even though I told him several times that we don't have to, and we couldn't just stay at home, but he didn't listen.

We arrived with only a few minutes to spare, and quickly made our way to the cafeteria where we found all of our friends sitting together talking and making the most noise like usual. We looked over at Kian's table and they waved at us and we waved back, and then continued over to our crazy bunch of what we call friends.

"And they've arrived!!" They announced.

"Yes we made it, now bow down peasants" I ordered, and they rolled their eyes as we sat down.

"I'm not surprised. You've been late everyday this week" Lily said.

"Okay sorry Mum" I responded, and she looked at me annoyed, and then continued to talk to the rest of the group.

But soon enough, the bell for first period rang and we all stood up and walked off to class. Like we always did, we sat up the back and talked away, and the teacher didn't stop us. He didn't stop the rest of the class either who couldn't care less about the work he had given, but I guess it was the last day of the year, so no one really cared at all. They just talked to their friends about the holidays, and what they would do when they catch up and where, and how they were excited about it because they knew it was going to be fun. The holiday that Phil's Mum was taking us on was going to be.

At recess, Kian's friends sat with us, which they had been doing for the last week. It was a bit awkward, but it wasn't too bad, and we actually managed to have a good conversation. They found us interesting and we found them funny, and to be normal people. The war between the two groups was forgotten, and we actually organised to hang out with them in the holidays as well. The other groups found it really weird though, the two groups that always hated each other we're now sitting together at one table, talking and laughing. We didn't care though, we were having a great time.

It didn't last long though, and soon enough, we were off to class again. The day seemed to be going by quicker than expected, but I wasn't complaining, it meant that it was getting closer to the end of school for the year. A year that has been full of ups and downs, and many unexpected twists that almost knocked me off the tracks. But we made it through. And I'm stronger for it.
