THE PLACE I LOVE THE MOST

Leaves crackled underneath my heavy feet.
Fall filled the air.
Animals scurried to find something to eat,
While I just sat and stared.

It was already October.
Everything was bright, but dying.
I sat high up in a tree
And felt the strong winds blowing.

If only I could stay here,
In this peace and bliss.
If only I could lay here,
Where I had my first kiss.

This is my heaven on Earth,
This is my utopia.
I am staying here forever,
No matter what the outcome.

This forest, my forest
Is all I truly have.
To be free, to be me
I’d give everything.
