She ran faster through the forest, her breath coming out in rapid spurts, branches whipping against her bare arms. She cried out as she struggled to hold back the emotions flowing through her. The shadows began to chase after her as the sun hid itself behind the mountains. She continued to run blindly, not caring where she went. Tiredness and pain overtaking her need to run, she collapsed onto her knees and began to sob into her hands. A deep laughter filled the forest. 'A very good show but you should know that you can't outrun your own heart,' the voice teased, 'I think it is time that you came with me.' Defeated, the girl stood and slowly walked forwards, following an invisible trail to a place she knew only too well.
