The two monsters walked up the path that led to the doors to the Ruins, when they found Toriel they saw she was having a pleasant conversation with Clarendon's brother, Sans.

"Oh, Heartfelt, are you ready to leave already?" Toriel said.

Clarendon nodded, "She's pretty tired."

Heartfelt rubbed the sleep from her eyes and turned to Clarendon, she kissed her on the cheek, mumbled a quick 'goodbye' before following her mother back to the Ruins. Clarendon blushed, and waved slowly. Heartfelt smiled, the horrible tightness in her chest from the fear of rejection was gone, it seemed things were going well.

"She's cute." Toriel remarked as they walked down the hallway.

"What?" Heartfelt blushed profusely.

Toriel giggled to herself and sighed, "So, child, what do you want to make for dinner?"

"Could we make some snail pie?" Heartfelt suggested.

"Of course dear." Toriel smiled.

After the two had prepared dinner they sat at the table, conversing on and off whilst they ate their meal. Toriel caught Heartfelt's spaced out gaze at she poked at her snail pie with her fork.

"Heartfelt?" Toriel broke the silence.

"Hm?" Heartfelt looked up, her thoughts momentarily interrupted.

"Tell me, what's on your mind, child?" Toriel asked.

"Oh, nothing..." Heartfelt sighed, her words trailing off.

"I have a few things to do tomorrow, perhaps while I'm gone you could go see your friend, wouldn't want you to be cooped up in the house all day." Toriel said.

"Ok, that'll be nice." Heartfelt nodded, a small smile appearing on her face.
