2 days later

Alayna stood at the door to her house, waiting for her father to bring around the horse and cart. She stood next to Michael, who stood, his arm around Alayna's waist, protectively. His face was sad with love and concern in his eyes, and he bit his lip nervously. Alayna looked back at him, and uncomfortably shifted out of his grasp as she heard the sound of horses hooves. Her heart was filled with love, but her face was stony, and expressionless. She learned, from experience, to never show her true feelings. No matter how much she loved Michael, no matter how much he made her feel safe with a single kiss, she knew she would never be safe from the village women wrath. Marrying the Mayors son would make it worse. If her father left for the beasts castle, leaving her all alone, her father wouldn't be able to protect her. She knew she was doing the right thing.

The Horse and Cart stood in front of her, her father holding the reigns of the mighty horse, Phillipe. Michael wiped a stray tear that trickled down his face and, held tight onto Alayna's hand. He pulled her closer, and gave Alayna a peck on the forehead, which made her go weak at the knees. She whispered in his ear, a message just for him. "remember me." He nodded, moe tears rushed out, and Alayna in all her emotional strongness, finally cried FOR someone. Her lips quivered, and a tear, as beautiful as hr face, slipped down her cheek. It gleamed and glistened in the morning sun.

She jumped onto the cart, while her father jumped onto the horse. He moved the reigns, in a way that told the horse to go, and the cart rolled down the path. Michael waved, his tear stained cheeks red. Alayna waved back, yelling out, "I WILL REMEMBER YOU!" And to her self she whispered, "My true love."

Michael soon was out of sight, and then so was the village, and Alayna felt she finally had the freedom the burst out into tears.

Little did she know, that those 3 words, those little whispered 3 words, would cause her great pain...
