Goodnight.
I texted Iris as I sat on my bed for one of the last times in my room.
I let out a deep breath. It was all just happening too fast.
Iris's POV:
I woke up and glanced at my phone. Two AM. Who am I kidding? I was up anyway. I couldn't sleep. And it was like the thousandth time I had checked my phone.
I opened the French doors onto my deck. The cool autumn breeze filled the room. I walked out, slowly shutting the door behind me. I climbed over the side and down the bush. It was the escape route I always used.
My feet landed quietly to the ground and I ran into my back yard. I climbed the maple tree and onto the branch that Cassie and I always used to sit on and have long talks.
I watched my feet dangle.
I was thinking of everything I was going to miss about Cassie.
I was picking at the seam in my shirt when a heard leaves crunching.
"Hello?"
