"What are you doing here?" I hiss at my little sister. Better yet how did she know where to find me? How does she know Matt!? I have a million and one questions floating through my head.
"Saving your ass as usual." She grins. I'm tempted to laugh. If she only knew the sacrifices i made for our family.
"I don't need saving." I cross my arms.
"Oh really? Did you forget you have people chasing you?" She asks. I turn my head to see the people from the house entering the alleyway.
"There they are!" We hear.
"Fuck! Kenzie run!" I push Kenzie forward. My only mission right now is to get Kenzie to safety.
"So you must be Kenzie!" Stephanie says running next to Kenzie. Seriously? How does she know her name?
"Yes, you must be the unnamed sister of my bodyguard." Kenzie says. Seriously? A conversation at a time like this?
"My brother is your bodyguard? Wow, explains why he hasn't been home lately." Stephanie sighs. Lately!? I haven't been home in at least two weeks and she's just now finding me?
"This way!" Matt yells leading us towards the tracks and off our gang turf. If we get shot because of this kid i swear.
"Steph, why didn't you stay home?" I ask,
"Because dear brother, i heard my boyfriend was in trouble." Hold the phone.
"And your boyfriend is?" I ask skidding to a stop.
"Doesn't matter brother." my sister snaps crossing her arms. I glare dangerously at her.
"Yes it fucking does depending on the person!" I snap back.
"I see em boss!" We hear. Kenzie lets out a scream as a gun goes off.
"we will discuss this later!" I ssay shoving my sister forward, grabbing Kenzies arm and running.
We continue to follow Matt all over town untill we finally arrive at a house.
"Where the hell are we Matt." I ask letting go of Kenzie's arm.
"The official safe house." Kenzie says. The official safe house? Didn't know this town needed one with Kian and Jc's gangs going freaking nuts half the time.
Matt rappidly knocks on the door and it opens like magic. He enters and we follow him to the basement where i see both Kian's gang and JC's gang mingled together. Kian looks up as we walk down the stairs.
"Oh my god Kenzie!" He stands up. Kenzie is quick to run over to him and hug him. I shake my head. IF she only knew. I walk over to them as Kian checks her over.
"Thank you man." Kian says holding out his fist. I bump it with my own and smile.
"Just doing my job."
"Remember what you promised." he says. I frown. Seriously? I just saved his sisters life and he wants me to repromise not to fall for her? I just nod and walk over to my sister who is talking to Matt.
"Alright i want answers. Who is your boyfriend?"
"Don't worry about it." Stephanie says. Matt avoids looking at me. Wait...they aren't. I meant they can't be. Cuase that would mean she'd be in his gang. And she wouldn't do that...but she didn't know.
"Are you and Matt dating?" I ask.
"No!" Stephanie says.
"Yes...just tell him the truth." Matt says.
"You son of a bitch!" I say punching Matt inn the face causing him to fall over.
All of a sudden a brown haired girl runs past and kneels next to Matt.
"What the hell Jack!?" Stephanie asks kneeling next to the girl and her boyfriend. Great, now she just basically outed me to everyone.
"You are NOT dating this prick!" I say gritting my teeth. Who does she think she is dating someone in a different gang than me?
"First of all he is NOT a prick!" my sister stands up. "Second, he saved your girlfriend's life!" she glares at me. She just took this way too far. She's gonna get me fired.
"She is not my girlfriend! I don't even like her like that. She is just part of my job and that job is protecting her!" I spit out before i can stop myself.
"Wow..." I hear Kenzie mutter. I turn noticing Kenzie standing there. Fuck. She wasn't supposed to hear any of that. I immediately regret all of what i said cause now she is gonna hate me forever.
"Kenzie, I-" she cuts me off.
"Save it!" She then turns and walks back over to Kian.
I turn back to Stephanie who looks like she's suddenly realized whats going on.
"Wait-" I grab her arm and drag her away from everyone else. She just stares at me almost sympathetically.
"What?" I ask.
"You really do like her, but somethings preventing you from being with her." She softly says.
"Yes, Stephanie. That's exactly what's going on. And you just made me mess it up even more. So thank you!" I say crossing my arms.
"I didn't mean for that to happen. If i had known i wouldn't have said anything!" She says crossing her arms also.
"Really? Cause you kind of have a big mouth." I raise my eyebrow.
"Big brother, i love you and if you like this girl you should go for it."
"She's Kian's sister. My gang leaders sister. It's not happening because he made me promise not to fall for her." I shrug.
"Well he's gonna have to deal with it cause it looks like you've fallen. And fallen hard." She pats my shoulder and walks away.
I sigh. She's right. But how am i going to fix this now?
