"So let me get this straight. You straight up told JC you guys were leaving his gang for mine and he let you?" Kian asks. I inwardly sigh. Kian has asked this question a thousand times already since he called this gang meeting like 30 minutes ago. We still haven't gotten any true answers as to why they are here but i'll sit and listen for another 30 minutes. Any longer and i'm gonna leave.
I glance at Kenzie, next to me on the couch, out of the corner of my eye. She looks stressed out by all this. Honestly though if i had an older brother as tough and stern as Kian i'd be a little stressed out too.
"Yes." Matt nods.
"I don't see why he would just let you two leave..." Connor asks crossing his arms. I don't see what the big deal is? Other than it being a trap.
"Maybe because he knew that he would lead them to Kenzie." Crawford suggests. I quickly look away from Kenzie as she turns to glare at Crawford who is sitting on the other side of me on the couch.
"Maybe..." Kian says sounding in thought.
"What's the story with you two?" Trevor asks.
"Who?" Kian asks.
"Them two." Trevor points to Mariah and Crawford who both turn red. Wow.
"Theres no story. Matt introduced us when we were younger." Mariah says. Crawford nods. Once again wow. Everyone in the room can tell they like each other.
"And whats the story with you?" Trevor asks point to Matt and my sister. I tense up. I don't like that they are dating and i wish they would break up. I almost jump as i feel Kenzie's hand on my leg. I slightly relax at her touch. Damn i can't even keep my tough composure around her anymore. I've got it bad.
"We are dating, simple as that." Matt shrugs.
"You have been seeing a member of JC's Gang?!" Kian screams at Stephanie. Woah, dude you can't just go off on my sister like that. Well i mean he can since he's leader and all, but still. It's my sister.
"I'm sorry..." She looks down. I feel bad for her. But not as bad as i'm gonna feel when Kian finds out I have feelings for his sister.
"How about the big question everyone has been wondering since that fight on the bridge." Chris starts. No. He's not about to go there. I feel Kenzie remove her hand from my leg as Chris says,
"GIlinsky and Kenzie." Everyone looks at us and Kian's eyes narrow. Well thanks douchebag. Now we are all going to get it for the next three years.
"There is nothing going on between us." Kenzie says. I'm going to get fired. He's gonna get me fired. I wonder if Kian will let me be with Kenzie if i'm no longer in his gang. No, he'll probably kill me instead.
"Really? You guys spend alot of time together and you guys stand and sit awefully close to each other." Chris raises an eyebrow.
"What the hell Chris!?"
"I'm her bodyguard!" Kenzie and i say at the same time.
"So defensive too." chris smirks. I want nothing more than to get off this couch and pop him in the face.
"That's enough!" Kian screams causing Kenzie to jump.
"Even if they were dating, which they are not." He gives kenzie a firm look, "GIlinsky knows it is against our gang rules to date my sister and therefore he would be punished and baned."
"That's crap though Kian!" Kenzie screams standing up. No no, come on Kenzie don't defend this almost-sort of-not happening- relationship.
"Do not raise your voice at me!" Kian screams back.
"TOo bad! You can't just keep in a damn tower for the rest of my life! I eventurally have to go on a date and get married and have kids! You can't prevent that kian!" She screams at him. Technically he could if he killed all the guys in her life.
"No I can't...but i will not allow my gang to date my baby sister because that makes them as vulnerable as me!" he narrows his eyes. "My job is to protect everyone in this gang like a family."
"They aren't our family Kian!" She screams. I notice some people look a little hurt by her statement.
"They are MY family Kenzie! Family is family! Blood or not!" He says as if the discussion is over. And in a way it is.
"What if i'm already dating smeone in your family!?" She asks. I let out a frustrated groan as Hayes gasps and Crawford smacks his forehead. She's gonna get us all killed.
"Who?" KIan asks. His voice is deadly and I know someone's gonna get hurt.
"Me!" I hear. We all watch Hayes stand up. What the hell is that boy doing!?
"She's dating me." Hayes slowly takes Kenzie's hand and i feel jealousy swell through me as i watch another man touch my girl. Oh so he can touch her but I can't?
"Hayes? You chose Hayes?" Chris exclaims. Yes, cause anyone is better than you asshole.
"Quiet!" Kian commands.
"Look, dear powerful brother. Protect me all you want, but you can't stop me from being with a guy who cares about me." She sighs.
"True but i can do this." Kian pulls his gun.
"NO!" Kenzie screams pushing Hayes away from her as the gun goes off.
"NO!" I yell out as Kenzie gets hit and flys backward hitting the floor. Everything starts happening in slow motion. Everyone is up on their feet and rushing to Kenzie. I'm stuck standing there frozen in fear that she's dead and anger towards Kian for not thinking.
"Gilinsky!" I hear someone faintly say my name but all i can hear is my own hearbeat and my vision starts to go blurry and then black.
