Keyanna POV

Monday 6.a.m

I woke up extremely tired due to all the homework I had to complete last night. I thought about staying home for a second but as soon as the thought came it was gone.

  I was not staying in this house with my crackhead mother and her male company who she refers to as "friends ". So I just got up and went to the bathroom hoping and praying the water was still on.

It was ! Thank God.

I stayed in the bathroom for thirty minutes doing my hygiene then I went to wake up my little sister Amere.

"Amere wake up and get ready for school" she looked at me while rubbing her sleepy eyes

"OK Yanni five more minutes" she whined and I laughed

"OK girl five minutes and then you gotta get up"she simply nodded while closing her eyes trying to enjoy her five minutes. I walked to my closet that I shared with Amere, we didn't have Alot of designer clothes because most of our mother's money went to supplying her drug habit.

Most of the stuff we had I got from thrift stores,garage sales,and sometimes Latoya would offer to let me to borrow some of her stuff but I always declined. Being the friend she is she would always put new items in the closet for me and Amere anyway.

I stood there for awhile before deciding to wear a plain white shirt,some blue Jean shorts and my beige sandals. Then I went to find Amere something to wear. I picked her out a plain baby doll shirt ,some blue capri's and some pink sandals. Just as I threw my my hair in a bun Amere came out the bathroom in her little rob.

"Yanni I am seven years old and I can pick out my own clothes I'm almost grown just like you" amere said with her hands on her hips.

"First of all Amere, I am not grown. I just had to grow up fast so I can look after you. Now put on your clothes so we won't be late for school." She sighed taking in what I had just said . "OK Yanni can you do my hair like yours pleeeeaaseee" she said as she poked out her lip I laughed I can do her hair but I can't pick out her clothes this girl is something else .

I just simply nodded and she came and sat on the floor while I grabbed my brush.

10 minutes later

I walked down stairs hoping and praying my mom wasn't here or was in her room knocked out at until me and Amere walked out the door. I looked in the living room and the kitchen and didn't see her I was so happy I was not in the mood to deal with her this morning. I walked in the kitchen and attempted to make me and Amere some breakfast but it was absolutely nothing in the fridge or cabinets damn I thought ima have talk to Kimberly about my raise (BTW Kimberly is Keyanna's boss at chillis ). Fuck it ima use this last twenty for me and Amere to eat. I was on the couch thinking about how I was going to steal money from the register today.

"Huuuhhhh" I sighed Amere walked up to me.

"Whats wrong Yanni we don't any food again?"Amere asked while looking sad.

"No Amere dont worry about food were going to  stop and get something before we walk to your school OK" I said as she nodded her head and with that we left. I hated we lived in the dirtiest apartment building in the world. I absolutely hated the smell of piss in the halls or the way the dusty boys would look at me when I came in and out of the door.

15 minutes later

We were just passing the local connivence store when Amere pulled on my hand signaling she wanted to go in the store. 

"OK Amere stop pulling me we are going" I said as we walked in

We got in the store and I told Amere to get something for her to eat while we walked and something for her to eat at school . I went over to the crackers and looked at the price $2.50 shit that is not in my damn budget but I had to make it work because that's the only thing I know that will fill me up I then walked to the aisle with the refrigerator's to find me a lemonade brisk.

After finding my brisk I grabbed two of them and told Amere to hurry up so we can go. She got a bag of animal crackers and a milk to eat for "breakfast" and a bag of hot Cheetos and a pink lemonade brisk for snack time.

We walked up to the counter and the man said ok your total is 9.25 I silently cursed under my breath shit now I only have 10.75 FUCK! Just as I was handing him my last twenty dollar  bill an unfamiliar voice behind me said "don't worry about it I gotchu". I turned around to see the cutest boy ever! He was about 6'3 brown skinned,had short naturally curly good hair, adorable dimples,hazel eyes, braces, and his voice was deep not to deep that it's weird it was that sexy deep.

I didn't realize I was staring until Amere hit me and the man was handing me the bag with our stuff in it I grabbed our bag and turned back to him "uhm uhm thank you" I said stumbling over my words.

He looked at me and said "you welcome boo". I tried so hard not to smile until I got out the store.

"Boo " I replayed that over and over in my head as I imagined what I would do to him. Wait! I dont even know his name our anything about him I just know I want him. I smiled all the way to Amere's school and all the way to mine today was gonna be a good day.
