I Need You.

Keyanna's POV

3 days later

Me and Xavier have been sitting by Ace's bedside for 3 days .

I only leave at 9pm when visiting hours are over and I come back at 6am as soon as visiting hours begin.

Xavier on the other hand has not left his bedside.

He had one of workers bring me his  white Range Rover so I wouldn't have to catch the bus and he gave me the keys to his house so I  can bring him a bag of clothes.

I also bring us food but Xavier barely touches his.

I try talking to him but he keeps the conversation short, really short but I can understand why he's so distant so I don't trip.

4:30 am

I woke up and got dressed in a grey  Nike jogging fit and some black and grey Nike  air maxes.

I went over to Ms.Nancy's house to check up on Amere and drop her off a little money in case she wanted something from the store  or something like that.

I knocked on the door lightly and a couple minutes later a sleepy Ms.Nancy answered.

"I'm sorry to bother you so early I just wanted to check on Amere so you wouldn't think I just dropped her off and forgot her "I said.

"Chile how can I think that when you call and check on this child 5 times a day" she said laughing and stepping out the way so I can walk in  the apartment.

She looked me in my eyes.

"Something is wrong with you "she said matter of factly.

"No I'm fine Ms.Nancy I just..." I said before she cut me off.

"Don't bullshit me Chile sit down and talk to Ms Nancy. " she said leading the way to the couch.

I sighed "a dear friend of mine was shoot and...........he's in critical condition and................he.... he.....might not make it. "I said lowly and started to cry.

Ms.Nancy came over and hugged me.

"I'm sorry to hear about that but you gotta have faith. You have to believe that God will make a way even when you can't see a way okay? Just continue to have faith and pray." she said looking in my eyes.

"Thank you Ms.Nancy I really needed that but I need to head back up to the hospital now but before I go I wanna let Amere know I stopped by." I said standing up

"Okay I need to go get me some coffee and watch my stories anyway" she said laughing. 

I laughed to and headed to the back room where Amere and all 3 of Ms.Nancy's  grandkids sleep.

I walked over to the bunkbed and leaned down and shook Amere lightly she stirred a little.

"Aaliyah I don't wanna play Barbies right now "she said sleeply and rolled over.

I laughed "I'm not Aaliyah,Mekenzie or Jasmine" I said naming off Ms. Nancy's grandkids.

She turned back my way recognizing my voice.

"Yanni!!" she semi-screamed and hugged my neck.

"Hey  Amere "I said hugging her back "you liking it over here?" I asked fixing her night gown.

"Yes Yanni Ms.Nancy wakes us up every morning and we all brush our teeth and then we all sit down and eat breakfast and it's soooo good too. "I laughed

"Then we all take turns doing each others hair and then we play Barbies and Tag and we watch movies and we have lots and lots of fun. "

I laughed "I'm glad you're having fun but I gotta go "I said standing up."But you know if you need anything just call me but in the meantime" I said handing her thirty dollars "buy whatever you want but spend it wisely OK."
