I saw him there and felt my blood begin to boil. What was a Redfox doing at a vampire party? Did the damn dog have a death wish? Did he think we wouldn't notice him? Idiot, I was going to take him down before anyone else. It was my job, I'm the Vampire Princess, I have to protect my people. In the McGarden mansion, this dog didn't belong. The only place he could possibly belong is the cellar to be dissected by the weapon masters.

I drew the knife from under my dress and made my way silently through the crowd of mortals and vampires trying to lure in their pray. I walked straight passed Lucy who noticed my urgent movements. Before I got out of her reach she grabbed my arm. "Lev," She whispered, "What is the matter?" She brushed a strand of her hair behind her ear as she looked me over, glancing at my dagger.

Taking my eyes off the dog across the room I replied, "There is a werewolf on the other side of the room." I looked back over to see the man gone. I bit my lip scanning the room. I looked back at my blonde friend who looked at me like I was insane. "Please let me go, I need to find him."

"Levy I don't see a werewolf. Plus, the McGarden mansion cannot be found by werewolves, it's impossible!" She tugged my arm slightly. "Put the dagger away, you're going to scare the mortals." She gave me a soft smile as I reluctantly slipped the dagger back under my dress giving a slight sigh. "Good girl."

"Yeah, whatever." I pulled my arm from her grip and walked away. My mind was set on finding the werewolf that had been in the mansion and to figure out how he found us. We had guards, they had watchdogs (which I find ironic because the werewolves are practically dogs), and we had alarms along the perimeter that could detect a werewolf within five miles of us. There was no way he should've been in the building.

I continued through the rest of the crowd until I finally stumbled out the front doors into the fresh air of the night. I smiled up at the moon, only half full. The beast wouldn't be able to change form if I did find him. I was positive I would though. I was the best tracker that our coven of vampires could offer. My father worried about me because I was the princess but I really didn't care. As princess, I had the freedom to do practically anything I wanted.

I made my way across the lawn looking at the guards and watchdogs as I did so. I looked back at the mansion walls as I stalked along the shadows the massive structure created. The mansion was over three hundred years old. We were the youngest vampire coven, but we still didn't seem that young to the few humans we've turned. Their reactions usually resulted in "Three hundred years?! Holy shit!"

I reached the edge of the mansion wall. There was about ten meters between myself and the fence. As I turned the corner I was grabbed and my mouth was covered muffling my startled scream.

"Keep quiet, shrimp." He hissed in my ear.

I blinked struggling against the man holding me. The nickname he had given me pissed me off and really I hated when people referenced my height. For being a pure blood, I was pretty short. Most pure bloods were five-foot-seven or taller. I stood at five even. It didn't stop me from learning how to kick the asses of those that taunted me about it.

Once I finally broke away from my captor I looked down at him. I had flipped him to the ground and I now had my boot down on his chest holding him there. Surely enough, it was the dog I'd seen in the mansion ten minutes prior.

"You." I hissed at him pressing into his ribs. Had he been human, he'd have been screaming in pain. His ribs didn't crack, it would take more pressure for me to crack them. I wanted to make him uncomfortable before I really hurt him. "What are you doing here and how did you get in here?" My voice was demanding and I leaned myself forward a bit pressing against his chest a bit more.

"None of yer damn business, squirt!" He spit back up at me.

Before I could speak another word (and let me tell you, that new nickname annoyed me more than the last) I was the one on the ground. I blinked jumping up. Once I was up, I was slammed against the wall. My head slammed against the three hundred year old bricks and I groaned feeling the warm blood run down my neck. The dog had his hand wrapped around my neck making it hard to breathe. My vision had also become slightly blurred, but now that the werewolf was standing in the pale moon light I could see his features clearly unlike in the dim ballroom.

He stood at a height much taller than mine, that much was clear when I had first spotted him. His raven colored hair was also visible in the ballroom, it was pulled back into a ponytail. It was an unusual look for a werewolf. They didn't usually care to take care of their mane. They let it flow free, however long or short it was. The other thing that threw me off about this wolf was the amount of metal in his face. It couldn't be silver because the beasts were allergic to that. It had to be iron. The biggest shock to me was the blood colored eyes he had. I had never seen a werewolf with those eyes. Usually it was us vampires that had the red eyes, but only when we were hungry. Even then, it was only those that were made vampires from being once mortal.

"Yer coming with me." He said with a deep, low, voice. I couldn't do much, his grip was far too strong on my throat. I was passing out and the clawing I had been doing at his hand hadn't done much good. With my feet off the ground and the blood trickling down neck, and now my back, I felt far too weak to fight anymore. How had this beast taken me captive so quickly? Why was he so strong? How did he get in? Why were his eyes red...?

I blinked a few more times before passing out. I fell into a darkness I wasn't used to. I was in a place I'd never visited before.
