"Gajeel!" My eyes shot from my fallen lover to my father that had a look of pure pleasure.
"I've been waiting centuries to kill this one." His voice was low and he drove his foot back and kicked Gajeel. Gajeel let out a groan.
"I'll save him," I hissed rushing at him. I slid trying to kick his legs out but he jumped and spun around. His hand wrapped around my neck and he lifted me up. I looked at Lucy and Natsu who both looked terrified. They both stood there in silence.
"Help...her." Gajeel got out under my feet. It broke my heart seeing him like that but my father's grip tightened around my neck. I clawed at his hand with my nails but it wasn't working. I was suffocating and my friends weren't doing a thing about it. Were they really that scared?
"Damn." I was on my back in a matter of seconds. There was a warm liquid that I had landed in and it only took me a few moments to recognize the sweet smell of his blood. Gajeel was bleeding out and he was bleeding out fast. There was so much blood...
I looked in the direction of my father. He was pressing his foot down on Gajeel and shoving the sword deeper into his back. I could tell Gajeel was trying to morph into his wolf form. His back kept expanding but there was no luck. He couldn't do it with the silver in his back.
"When will you die?!" My father yelled at him and I jumped up and threw him off. I pulled the sword out of Gajeel's back and looked back in the direction where Natsu and Lucy had been. I was surprised to see that they were gone. They had fled in fear.
"Little bitch." I heard before I was falling back. We crashed through a window and the wind was knocked out of my lungs. I tried to catch my breath but I laid there struggling under the foot of the head vampire, my father. "You've disobeyed me time and time again, Levy. I'll take care of you and then I'll kill your werewolf next." I could see the hints of dawn coming from the sky behind him.
There were tears in my eyes as I fought to breathe. I watched him draw a dagger from his belt. He knelt down and positioned it above my chest. I grabbed his hand but I was too weak to push back. Soon I would pass out from lack of air. But then, he yelled in pain.
"Keep off her." I heard Lucy's voice. I looked up and she had a smile on her face. I breathed in greedily and once my breath was caught I sat up. My father had been shot in the chest. Right in the heart. He had fallen to the ground a few feet away from myself.
"Good job, Luce." Natsu came up behind her with Gajeel slung over his shoulder wearing a clean set of clothes.
"Levy..." Gajeel's voice was faint but I heard him. I stood up picking up the dagger my father had dropped when he had fallen.
I had just slipped the dagger into my belt when he grabbed my foot. "If I die, you die with me." He hissed from the ground. I tried my best to shake him off but the sun had already beaten us. I looked at Gajeel and he had a look of utter defeat on his face. He shoved Natsu away and stumbled out into the courtyard as my father burst into flames below me.

"Levy," I whispered. I nearly fell into her as her father turned to ashes. His grip on her leg died with him and I stood there holding my side staring at her in astonishment. She was alive, in the sunlight.
"How am I...?" She looked at her hands then back up at the sun. She then looked at me and nearly jumped on me. Her arms wrapped around my neck and I fell back onto my back. The pain was horrible but I couldn't have been happier. Something in my face must have given me away because she got off me apologizing quickly.
"You need to get fixed up." She said looking down at me. "I'm sorry this all happened."
"Ya shouldn't be." I replied to her. I smirked at her and sat up, pain shot through my back and I instantly regretted it.
"It's my fault you're hurt." She sat beside me in the sunlight. Her blue hair shined in it so beautifully that I was extremely happy I could see her beauty in more than just the darkness.
"Yeah but I'll be fine."
"Yeah." She grabbed the dagger she had put in her belt and slit her wrist. "Here." She held it out to me and I looked at her.
"Levy, I can't."
"You can and will." She pressed her bleeding wrist to my mouth and the warmth of her blood met my lips. I licked it up then licked her cut. The pain in my back started to go away almost instantly.
"Better?" She asked pulling her wrist away.
"Yeah." I stood up and offered her my hand. I was still a bit out of it due to the loss of blood but I knew that I could at least help her up.
"You should take it easy, sir." I turned around when I heard the voice of Erza. Beside her stood Jellal. "The rest of the pack has headed home and they're waiting for their leader."
"I have a few vampires that need to come with us." I turned and looked at Levy's friends. They were sitting there conversing in the shadow of the doorway.
The blonde looked up and smiled at me, "I'm sorry we had ran away before. We knew we wouldn't be able to defeat Jace in close range." She spoke softly but loud enough for me to hear her. "How is Levs alive?"
"I ain't got a clue, but I'm thankful." I turned to my blue haired woman who was now chatting with Erza. They both looked at me and smiled. Levy broke away from my red haired pack mate and walked to me.
"How do you feel?" I asked pulling her close.
"Warm." She whispered wrapping her arms around me. She yawned and I smiled. I was around the time she usually went to bed.
"And about yer father?"
"He's been destroying your kind for centuries. He deserved it. I just wish I had noticed it sooner."
"It's alright, shrimp. Let's head home." I gave her a gentle smile as Erza and Jellal dashed by with two vampires wrapped in blankets.
"Right, home." She gave me a bright smile and we started off to my small cabin in the woods.
