I felt it was my duty by about four a.m. to go out looking for my small vampire. I wasn't really afraid she'd be stupid enough to stay out and get burned by the sun, I was afraid someone in my pack would find her and attack while she vulnerable and disarmed. Her knife did still sit the holster on my belt.
I grabbed the blanket she had left behind and headed out of my house. It was in case it got too bright out while we were heading back. I had a feeling I knew where I'd find her. She wasn't ready to try to head home, I knew that for a matter of fact, so I was certain she was in the woods. More specifically, by the pond not too far from my little hideout.
I made my way to the edge of the woods and walked somewhat quickly. There was a trail of her footprints that I could follow, and not before long I found myself in front of the pond. The sight I saw before me shocked me a bit though. She was sitting there with a small animal in her hands. She was petting its lifeless body, her bloody hands leaving streaks of red behind with each stroke.
"Levy..." I whispered realizing that she had a rabbit in her hands. Poor thing.
"I didn't expect you to come out here after me." She said with a sinister tone. "I bet you think I'm as pathetic as everyone at my coven." She looked back at me then tossed the rabbit at me. "Here, eat up, dog."
"What the hell?" I growled avoiding the small creature as it flew at me. I was beside her in seconds. "I don't eat rabbits fer one, and fer two ya need to cut that shit out. I don't think yer pathetic." I grabbed her by the wrist and she looked up at me. Her eyes were still watery and her cheeks were stained red with blood. There was small lines along her cheeks were it was clear that she'd been crying after murdering the poor bunny.
She sighed and rested her head on my shoulder. "Let me go home..." She whispered as I wrapped the blanket around her. She wrapped herself up and I picked her up. "Please, Gajeel."
"No." I said walking back through the wood. "I have something I want to tell ya, but it'll have ta wait until I get us back to my cabin."
"O-okay." She mumbled wrapping her arms around my neck. She was asleep in my arms by the time I got her back inside my living space.
~~
I woke up to a ray of sunlight burning my arm. I sat up quickly and huddled up in the blanket that was wrapped around me. It took me a moment to realize I was inside Gajeel's living area instead of down inside of my cell. "Gajeel?" I called out looking at the ray of sunlight that separated me from the rest of the bed and room for that matter. I looked around and saw an assortment of books around the place. I had no idea he was a reader too.
"You called?" He asked peeking his head in the room. He looked me over for a moment then nodded realizing why I called him. He walked over and pulled the shades the rest of the way closed. "Did ya get burned?" He asked.
"My arm, it woke me actually." I looked away feeling slightly embarrassed. He reached out and grabbed my arm looking it over.
"Damn, burned ya bad. I'll be back." He left the room closing the door behind him. I curled up in the corner of the bed and waited listening to his movements outside of the door. I heard the fridge open and close, there were a few cabinet doors that opened and the clanking of what I assumed was mugs.
Once the door opened Gajeel held a mug of blood in his hand and carried it over to me. He handed it to me and I drank it greedily. I hadn't really eaten the night before and with my new burn wound, I was extremely hungry. The burn healed eventually and once I was done with the sweet blood that was in the the mug I looked up at Gajeel who was just sitting on the bed beside me watching me.
"Ya sure were hungry." He said with a chuckle. "Need more?"
I shook my head and crossed my legs placing my hands in my lap. "You said you had something you wanted to tell me last night before we go here, what was that?"
His face paled, like he had hoped I would forget. He rubbed the back of his neck then took a deep breath, "I know where yer wolf pup is."
I blinked scared of what he was going to say next, I didn't want him to be dead. I actually wanted him back, I wouldn't mind seeing him again. I'd even be fine with running away with him. "Oh... where is he?" I asked. The crack in my voice gave away my fears.
He sighed, "It's me."
It took me a moment to register what he said, then I slapped him. "You lie!" I yelled at him. "You're just mocking me." I felt myself start to cry. I felt like a huge crybaby. I'd gone from a total badass to a total crybaby in front of this werewolf in a matter of a few days. I hated these dogs.
He didn't say a thing after that. He just caressed my cheek gently before our lips met and my eyes widened in shock. It all rushed back to me and before I knew it, we were on the floor and I was hugging the life out of the man under me. I was inexperienced in kissing but that didn't stop be from pressing my lips to his roughly.
The things that came back to me where his looks. He did look a lot different than he had when he was a pup. His piercings were the biggest change. His hair was grown out and he stood over six foot. But I remembered his blood red eyes. I remembered his name... Gajeel Redfox, the alpha werewolf. My young love. The love I had never really forgotten, but that was taken from me only to be returned.
