I put on the nicest thing in my closet which isn't much. I look at myself in the simple turquoise dress and sigh. I don't feel very pretty, my straight light brown hair looks too plain and my glasses make me feel more like the nerd I am. Most of all, I hate my face. Suddenly, it seems extremely narrow and too crowded with the horrid acne. I never had the time to realize my many flaws. No wonder Matt, Andrew, and the other past guys didn't like me back. I feel like having a meltdown but convince myself to pick myself up and get to the party.
"Honk, honk.". I glance outside into the driveway.
My ride is here.
"Bye mom I'm leaving to Julie's party!" I yell into the living room where my mom is on the phone with her gossipy friend, Diana.
"Bye sweetie, have fun!" she shouts back.
As I step out the front door I see a sparkling black 2014 Chevy impala on the driveway.
"Hey you look great!" a long dark brown haired, slightly tanned boy dressed in a black suit and blue tie says as he opens the car door for me.
"OMG no I don't, you're the one who looks great.........for once," I laugh nonchalantly.
"Why thank you miss but I beg to differ, you look well today. Now think of me as your chauffer where do you wish to go?" Louis Armstrong boomed.
"The Wilson estate please monseiur, if its not too much a drive for you." I chuckled faking a french accent.
"No not at all madame I was just on my way there anyway, it would be my pleasure to accompany you to the Wilson estate," Louis answered, going along with the french facade I had begun.
We continued to speak like this for the rest of the ride to Julie's house. Sometimes, a good friend like Louis was all you needed to make you smile.
"You ready?" Louis asks as he positions his knuckle to knock on the white door.
"Yeah I guess," I sigh as he knocks at the door.
A gorgeous blonde haired girl wearing a sparkling gold dress opened the door.
"Hey come in," she says as she motions inside.
As I walk in I am overwhelmed by the huge amount of people, beautiful mansion, and loud music. Everything just slows down for a minute. I walk like my legs are made out of jelly and breathe it all in. It feels like its been a lifetime since I went to a party. Julie runs up to me and nearly kills me in a choking bear hug. She tells me how beautiful I look and how great it is to have me here. I never thought anyone would actually think I looked pretty. It feels nice but I know its a lie. Everything seems to be going well....until Alexis and the populars come into the picture.
At first, they don't notice me.
"Why are they here?" I whisper harshly to Julie.
"I dunno they weren't invited...party crashers...I'll take care of this don't worry," she assures me.
"Hey you guys you were not invited so get the hell out of my house now!" Julie yells at the populars.
"Cmon let us stay we'll be peaceful...and if you kick us out we'll get you back...plus....you look fine today maybe we can hook up or something," Luke Ross threatens.
"I'm not afraid of you and ew," Julie says firmly.
"You should be," Luke laughs as he grabs a vase and chucks it at the television.
"OMG I can't believe you...get out now!!!" Julie screams.
Luke cackles and swaggers out the door but just as Alexis is about to cross the door she catches a glimpse of me and it's all over.
"What is loser girl doing at a party? It's not exactly her natural habitat," Alexis teases as she steps back into the house and makes her way over to me.
Julie tries to defend me but Luke grabs her and carries her up to the mansion's second floor. I'm too scared to speak.
"Lost her voice have we? I can fix that," Alexis laughs as she finds Louis and grabs him by his hips and kisses him passionately.
He tries to break free but Alexis's grip is stronger than iron. She finally lets go and turns her attention back to me.
"Your boyfriend tastes good, you should let me have some more of that later," Alexis smirks.
"He's not my boyfriend," I say hesitantly but I feel like I'm about to cry.
Maybe I did have feelings for Louis all this time.
"Aw don't lie I've seen you two, he's the only person that talks to you god knows why," Alexis sneers.
I don't even have time to reply before the cups come raining down.
"You don't deserve him, you don't deserve to be here, you don't deserve to go to school, you don't deserve to be alive!" Alexis shouts.
She then grabs a cup of Coke and throws it at me. Other people start to mimic her and I am covered in Coke and other soda. I am about to have a meltdown. The tears start streaming down and Louis tries to stop everyone but he cannot do anything. Majority rules. Insults come flying down upon me. Louis runs to me, takes my hand, and yanks me out of this disaster zone.
"Are you ok?" he asks as we walk to the car.
"No, Louis I think I'm done...no one cares about me...no one loves me...society hates me...I can't live in a world that wants me to die anymore, I just can't!" I cry.
He wraps me in a warm hug and his lips find their way to mine. It is like no other kiss. It is sweeter than Matthew's and is real
. He breaks from my lips for a second and whispers "I care, I love you,".
"I love you too, but I need other people to care to...I can't live with their insults, I can't live while they hate me because I know if they don't like me who in life will?"
"Jor-," he tries to say before I cut him off.
"No Louis I give up. Life doesn't want Jordan Rick, not anymore,"
I say choking up.
"I want you, I can be your life," he whispers.
He drives me home and makes me promise that when I go he will be there. I promise.
