Vic's POV
"So, we need to talk," Kellin said, the two of us sitting at the kitchen table.
I nodded, "I know."
Kellin bit his lip and looked down at his hands before he pulled out some papers. "I think you know what these are," he whispered.
"I know." I said quietly.
"Do you wanna talk about everything, do the whole nine yards and everything? I talked to a lawyer last night."
"I wanna think about this for a few nights," I admitted.
"We've been thinking about this for a long time."
"I know but, Kells this is a big thing for me," I admitted, my voice cracking. "I just need a night to sleep over this."
"You need more time?"
I nodded. "Give me one night, I'll go stay at some motel but I just need one night to really let this sink in before I sign anything."
"One night."
"Thank you," I said and stood up. "Can I tell Alan goodbye when he wakes up?"
Kellin sighed. "I think it'd be better if we didn't start his day off that poorly. Let him sleep. You can tell him tomorrow when we discuss everything."
"Okay." I sighed. "I'm going to pack some of my things and then I'll just get out of your hair until tomorrow."
He nodded and let out a sigh. "Maybe this will be good for us."
"What are we gonna tell Alan?"
"I don't know, I'll figure something out."
"Can I go tell him I love him?"
"He's sleeping."
"He'll barely even notice I'm there."
"Fine, go," he said with a sigh. "Then you need to get going."
I nodded and ran upstairs to Alan's room. Once I got in there I found him fast asleep in Austin's arms. I shut the door behind me and walked over to the bed, pushing Austin a little waking him up.
"Hey, get to your room. I won't be here to cover for you anymore."
He nodded, "I'll talk with you later for more details." He said removing Alan from his grip then going to his room.
I sighed and brushed Alan's hair out of his face and kissed his forehead softly. "Love you, Kiddo," I murmured.
Alan moved around a little opening his eyes half way. "Love you, too, Papa." He mumbled still half asleep.
"I'll see you later," I whispered and stood upright.
"See you." He mumbled and before I left the room he was passed out again. I hurried to my old bedroom and grabbed a suitcase as I looked around and sighed.
I can't believe this was it. I opened the case and started packing some things away. I had to keep myself from breaking down into tears right now. I bit my lip as I grabbed a picture of Kellin, Alan and I standing outside of the courtroom after we had finalized Alan's adoption.
That was one of the best days of our lives. And it'd never be like that again.
Things were going to be so complicated.
And Alan was going to hate us.
This was going to destroy every bond we ever had with him. He was never going to trust either of us with anything ever again. Everything was over.
