Picnics and Parks

Your POV:
It was your 2 year anniversary with the one and only Dan Howell. He texted you that he was picking you up at 5:30 to go out for dinner.

Right now you were staying at your moms house because she has been helping you find what to wear for today. It was 3:00 so you decided to get ready.

You took a nice hot shower and dried your hair and body.

First you got changed. You had picked out a black, knee length dress with glitter spread over the skirt of it. It was a long sleeved dress. You paired it with a pair of black wedges. Next was your hair. You decided to curl it and pin it half up, half down. Your makeup was mascara, winged eyeliner, brows, concealer, and lipstick. Your lipstick was a dark Crimson colour.

You put on your black leather jacket, your necklace that Dan gave you when you were 13 (you've been friends your whole lives). The necklace was a heart that said "you're cool" on a heart and on the back was Dans name.

You slipped on your pandora bracelet and grabbed your shoulder purse. 5:29. Perfect. Next there was a knock on the door. "Y/n. He's here!" You heard your mom yell from downstairs. "Coming" you yelled back.

As you walked down the stairs Dan's jaw dropped in astonishment. "Wow." He said. "Wow to you too." You said to him.

Dan looked amazing. He was wearing a black tux with a black tie. He had his fringe swept perfectly to the side. He was wearing the friendship bracelet that you have him when you were 15. You were wearing one too. It was a blue and white and black bracelet that was braided.

Dan had a bouquet of your favourite type of flowers in his hand. "Thank you so much." You said to him. You handed them to your mother and she went to put them in the kitchen.

"Ok guys. I need a picture of you guys." Your mom said while walking in with her camera and phone in her hand. She took one picture on a Polaroid and one on her phone.

You knew what the Polaroid was for. She was going to take it to your dad. A few years ago your dad died of a heart attack. She was going to put that on his grave.

"He would've been so proud. I'm sure he would've been ecstatic that you and Dan got together. He always thought you and Dan were perfect for each other." You mom said while wiping away a tear.

"Ok sorry lets get you guys going. Have a fun night. Bye kids." You mom said to you and Dan. "Bye mom." You said. "Bye y/m/n." Dan said. (Y/m/n = your moms name).

Dan guided you over to his black rover and opened the door for you. You got in and he jogged around to the other side of the car.

"Where are we going?" You asked him. "That would ruin the surprise darling." Dan said

After about 20 minutes of driving, you pulled up to a park. But it wasn't just any park. It was the park that you and Dan met at.

*flashback*
You were babysitting your niece and decided to take her to the park to play. When you got there she immediately started running at full speed ahead.

Not wanting to lose her who started jogging after her. That is until you bumped into a tall figure.

"Oh I'm so sorry I wasn't looking where I was going." Said the man. You looked up. He was very handsome. Dark brown hair that fell into a fringe. Chocolatey brown eyes. A beautiful smile that you could look at forever.

"Oh it's totally fine. I was just going after my niece." You said while looking around for her. "Speaking of my niece... she's gone." You said while frantically looking around trying to find her.

At this point you were having a panic attack. "Shh, it's okay we'll find her. Don't worry she's safe." This man said to you. "First my name is Dan, what's yours?" He asked. "Y/n" you managed to choke out while sobbing.

After about 20 minutes of looking all around the park for her, you saw her sitting on a park bench.

"BECKY!" You cried out while running towards her. "AUNTIE!" She yelled back. "Never do that again. You scared the crap out of me." You said breathlessly.

You and Dan and Becky hung out at the park for the rest of the day.

"So y/n. I've had a lot of fun today. And I wanna see you again. Do you wanna grab a coffee tomorrow say around 11ish?" Dan asked nervously. "Of course Dan." You said while pecking his cheek.
*end flashback*
"I love you so much right now you don't even know." You said to him.

In the middle of the lawn of the park, was a picnic. A beautiful one.

Dan had laid out a black blanket, and had a old timey wooden picnic basket. Inside was mac and cheese, juice boxes and brownies for after.

After you were finished eating Dan stood up. You stood up with him.

"Listen, I love you more than you could ever imagine," Dan said while grabbing your hands. "I love the way your hair falls perfectly over your shoulders, I love the way your dimples show when your smiling, I love when you laugh a lot you snort. I love every little bit of you. Every inch of your perfect body, I love. I love you inside and out. I would kill for you and die for you. So I guess what I'm trying to say is, I love you so much that I'm doing something I fought I would never do. That is until I met you. So y/n l/n, will you please marry me?" Dan asked.

By now you were crying. "Of course Dan." You said while kissing him.

Hey guys. Please please don't hate me for not posting. But I came back with a bang. This story was 1014 words. This is my longest imagine ever. I really really hope you guys like it. It took me four days to write and I put a lot of effort into it. I probably won't post for another few days cuz I have a huge project due on Friday. So yea. Thanks for reading. 😘
