will you marry me?

*disclaimer: this whole chapter is in dan's point of view*

you can do it dan. you can do it. it's simple. you just get down on one knee and say "will you marry me?" that's all it takes. sure she might flat out reject you in front of everyone but there's a chance she'll say yes too. right? i thought to myself while pacing back and forth in me and y/n's bedroom.

she was at work and i was getting stuff ready for the party we were having. i had decorated and everything like she asked and put food out and set everything up but there was one thing i was stressing about.

proposing to her.

i've wanted to propose to y/n for months but i never had the balls to. now, i have the ring, i have the perfect setting and i have her. all it comes down to now is me actually doing it.

i heard the front door open and close meaning y/n was home from work. i quickly stuffed the ring box into my pocket and went to greet her at the door.

"hey princess how was your day?" i asked while engulfing her in a hug.

"eh same old" she replied.

i pulled away and gave her a quick kiss.

"so i see you got everything ready for the party. who all is coming?" she asked while taking off her shoes and coat.

"um i think phil, pj, chris, anthony, ian, my mom and dad, your mom and dad, louise, zoe and alfie, and then y/b/f (your best friend)" i told her.

"okay and what time are they coming again?" she asked, walking to or bedroom.

"i think around 6" i said while following her.

"okay, i'm going to shower before everyone gets here. i'll be out in a few" she said while pressing a kiss to my cheek.

i walked into the kitchen and started getting some booze out, putting it on the table where the food was. i also put out paper plates, plastic cutlery and red solo cups so that y/n and i didn't have too many dishes to do.

how are you even gonna ask her? i thought.

"i don't know" i said aloud.

well figure it out because the party is in 45 minutes.

"i will i will calm down"

"who're you talking to?" y/n asked as she walked behind me and wrapped her arms around me.

"oh no one don't worry about it" i said while turning around and wrapping my arms around her.

"okay, is there anything else i can do to help?" she asked sweetly.

"nope i've got it covered princess" i said while kissing her forehead.

"okay, i love you" she said while smiling brightly.

"i love you too princess" i replied.

there was a knock at the door indicating that someone was here for the party.

"i got it" i said while jogging up to the door.

i opened it and on the other side was phil.

"hey phil hows it going?" i asked him.

"pretty good, you?" he replied.

"yeah same here" i said while guiding him into the kitchen.

"hi phil" y/n said while pulling him into a hug.

she's so sweet. and beautiful. and kind. and loving. she's everything i've ever wanted. i need to marry her.

>time skip<

"okay everyone please quiet down i have an announcement to make" i said while tapping my fork to my glass.

everyone quieted down and averted their gaze to me. i glanced at y/n who was staring at me with a smile on her face.

god she's so beautiful.

"so everyone knows me and my beautiful girlfriend y/n have been dating for about two years now. that's not a really long time but i feel like over the years i've gotten to know her so well. i can read her like the back of my hand. she's gorgeous and thoughtful and really fucking -excuse my language- funny. she's the first girl i've ever truly loved and i want to be with her for the rest of my life. so y/n l/n," i said while getting down on one knee and pulling out the ring box, "will you marry me?"

her hands were over her mouth and tears glossed over her beautiful eyes.

she nodded her head rapidly, sticking her hand out.

i slipped the ring on her thin finger and got up to hug her.

"i love you so much dan"

"i love you too y/n"

we shared a passionate kiss while our family and friends erupted into claps and cheers.

you did it dan. you fucking did it.
