Connor slowly sank, lower and lower in the lava. It seemed almost as if the ground beneath the lava opened up. Superboy began to fall, finally being able to hear his own scream.

He plummeted and landed hard on the ground.

He stood up slowly and quickly moved as lava came flowing down behind him.

"Wish Wally or Bart were here!" Connor yelled as he ran, "Wally..."

Connor frowned at himself, "I wasn't even there to help..."

Connor stopped dead in his tracks and let the lava flow through him, "ERRRRRRAHAHAAAA!" He yelled, then the lava moved away from him. Connor was able to walk peacefully now.

"I'm sorry Wally... I'm sorry that the last thing I ever said to you was harsh..."

Flashback to The Watchtower...

Wally and I stood by window, gazing out at the Earth.

"Still can't believe we never knew about this thing," Wally joked.

"Definitely hurt," I replied.

"Wonder if they ever hid anything else, ya know?"

"At this point, I truly doubt it. When we were sidekicks, it was understandable. But we really aren't much of sidekicks anymore. We're a Team."

"Yeah, I know. Just, well, hard to deal with."

"It's not good to keep secrets. They give people guilt, and others curiosity. And some, anger."

"Like when Kaldur didn't tell us there was a supposed, 'mole,' on the Team."

"I'm glad he didn't tell us sooner. It tore our Team apart."

"And you were still having M'gann drama, meanwhile Rob, Arty and I were pissed with Kaldur."

"Please, I don't want to talk about M'gann."

"Listen, it was just a breakup. You gotta chill."

"It was different... It wasn't what it should've been."

"Break ups happen."

"Listen, can we stop talking about this?"

"Fine."

I walked away from Wally and heard him mutter something. My super-hearing quickly realized he said, "grumpy."

"What was that?" I turned and stared at Wally tensely.

"What?"

"I'm not grumpy!"

"A break up can't be that bad!"

"Well it was for me! Having feelings isn't being grumpy!" My body tensed and something I never wanted to say came out of my mouth, "That's coming from the guy who got a D in Math!"

"Well, I wasn't born with all the knowledge of the world! Unlike you!"

"Well maybe you should try not being an idiot!"

We had a tense stare down. Next thing that happened, we were called to start deploying the bombs.

If I hadn't made a stupid comment, and been a jerk to Wally... Maybe I would've been there... And maybe Wally wouldn't have died.

"AND NOW I'M IN A STUPUD HOLE!" I yelled to anyone and anything above ground. I noticed I had been walking, not paying attention to where I was going.

Two red dots appeared at the end of the tunnel, followed by multiple more red dots.

My fists took a stance for me, and I stared at the darkness. The eyes inched closer, but nothing dangerous was coming.

"Genomorphs," I muttered to myself.

Garfield held M'gann in his arms.

"M'gann, it's okay," Garfield did his best to settle-down Miss Martian, "Kaldur is looking for him now. The two will appear from that hole any second now."

Kaldur examined the tunnels, shouting the name of his lost friend.

"CONNOR!" He shouted, "SUPERBOY!"

Kaldur looked at the ground and tensed his fists.

"Fate," he began to say, "Kent Nelson. Zatara. I need Doctor Fate."

A magical Arora appeared before him.

Kaldur smiled, "Zatanna."

"I know, wrong wizard," Zatanna smiled, "so, you really weren't working with the Light?"

Kaldur smirked, "correct."
