Chapter 11- Kassie

~5:45~

"Wake up Kassie!"
I covered my head with my blankets.
"Come on! Today is our date."
"5 minutes," I whined.
"No, now!"
"Fine!"

I got up and brushed my teeth. I came out of the bathroom to find a dress on my bed.
"No, I'm not wearing that!" I yelled.
"Just wear it for today. Plus it was in your luggage."
"Why are you looking around at my stuff?"
"Cause I want us to look good for our date."
"Um okay. Are you going to wear a tuxedo?"
"Well sure."
"I'm gonna go change."
"Yeah, me too."
"Um, not in the bathroom, you aren't."
"Fine. I'll change out here."

I changed into my dress with red, blue, and light green stripes and white roses. I walked out and saw Kris sitting on my bed.
"Wow, you look pretty Kassie," Kris said with a smile.
"Thanks. You look good too."
"We should pack cause we are getting on the ship today at 5."
"Okay. Are we coming back for our luggage?"
"Yeah."
"What's in the backpack?" I asked.
"Stuff in case."
"Okay."
"Let's go," Kris said taking my hand.
"Where are we going?"
"To eat breakfast."
"Yeah, but after that."
"It would be a surprise."
"It's not like Monica would be spying on us now. She doesn't even wake up this early," I said, yawning after.
"It seems like you don't wake up this early either."
"I don't."
"Get on my back, I'll carry you down the stairs."
"Okay."

We reached the lobby and Kris put me down. We walked to the door.

"Where's the car?" I asked.
"What car? We're walking today!"
"Are you joking?" I asked, giving Kris a confused look.
"Nope. We really are walking everywhere today."
"Dang it! You make me wake up early and now you're making me walk everywhere!"
"Yup."

I rolled my eyes and groaned. Kris grabbed my hand and started walking. He had a strong grip. I guess he didn't want me to run off.

"Why are you holding my hand so tight?" I asked.
He loosened his grip. "Better?"
"Yes."
"So what do you want to eat for breakfast?"
"What about a doughnut?"
"I think we need more than one for the day."
"Yeah, like 1 and a half for me at least. Then we can have lunch later."
"What would we have for lunch?"
"Think about it later."

Kris and I walked to the nearest doughnut shop. The instant we walked into the shop, I smelled flour mixed with chocolate. I can already taste the doughnut in my mouth.

"Hi, how may I help you today?" A lady asked.
"Kassie, what do you want?" Kris said.
"Glazed doughnut."
"How many?" Kris asked.
"Two."
"We would like 4 glazed doughnuts."
"Okay, that would be 3 dollars and 96 cents."

Kris payed and pulled me out of the shop.
"Kassie, where do you want to go now?"
"Well it was your idea to go on a date."
"I guess we can just walk around."
"Yeah," I agreed.

I held my doughnut in my left hand and Kris' hand in my right. There was a breeze that caused me to tighten my grip on Kris. He glanced down at our hands and back up to me. I loosened my grip and smiled at Kris. Kris smiled back as he walked faster.

"Kris, why are you walking so fast?" I asked.
"Cause I wanted to see what you would do."
"I'm done with my doughnut."
"Great. You want the other one?"
"Not all of it."
"Here, just eat how much you want and give me the rest."
"Okay."

I ate 1/3 of the doughnut and placed it in front of Kris' face. He took the doughnut and finished it in a few seconds. It's 6:23; most stores aren't even open yet. We spent our time walking around the park, which had no one there besides me and Kris. I sat on one of the swings and Kris sat on the swing next to me.

"It's so peaceful." I said, smiling.
"Yeah."
"I wish it can stay like this forever."
"Me too, but it would just be me and you."
"It wouldn't last forever though."
"It doesn't hurt to just imagine, for just a little bit," Kris said, standing behind me.
