When Hitomi finally made it to class she had walked in on an interesting development between two of her classmates. Naruto, who she had just seen last night, and Sasuke, the second best in class, kissing. From the looks on their faces, it was an obvious accident and the cause was standing right behind Naruto. The guy who must have pushed Naruto, walked from the desk oblivious to what he just did. Hitomi smirked as both boys fell away from each other coughing and gagging, this would make good teasing and black mail material.
She walked to the desk in front of them, and sat down in an empty seat. She pulled from her brown school bag her left over paperwork she had to turn in. Looking over them she began to finish them, ignoring the whole class around her. Normally Hitomi has never not finished any paperwork she had to do for interrogations but with the circumstances of yesterday and taking over all of her's and Ibiki's interrogations she had twice than normal. She originally planned to take them home and finish them last night but obviously she couldn't. While working on her second report Iruka came into the classroom. Hitomi looked up and sighed, she'd have to finish them up later.
Iruka came up to the front of the class, "Today I'll be announcing the genin teams, then your jounin sensei will come to get you. Pay attention." He said sternly then rattled off a couple of teams. Hitomi zoned out until Iruka said something peculiar.
"Team 7: Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha," Iruka announced, both Sakura and Naruto exchanged in cheers and groans to their new teammates, but Iruka wasn't done, "Due to some circumstances with an uneven amount of students, Hitomi Morino will also be on Team 7." He announced.
Hitomi raised an eyebrow; a team of four? Thats weird. The Hokage must have already known that there was an uneven amount of students for each team only having three but why would he put her on that team? Suddenly Naruto interrupted Hitomi's thoughts.
"Hey Iruka-sensei! Why is an awesome guy like me put on a team with that teme Sasuke?!" He yelled.
Iruka smiled, "To equally balance out the team. You Naruto have the worst scores, while Sasuke had the second best." Iruka answered.
Hitomi let out a snort, but no one seemed to notice. If that were the case then Hitomi definitely wouldn't have been put on Team 7. She'd probably have to talk to the Hokage about this. In fact-
"Who had the best scores Iruka-sensei?" Sakura asked, interrupting Hitomi's thoughts again with a question that pertained to her.
Iruka's smiled widened, "Hitomi, of course."
Hitomi felt multiple eyes come to her. Not liking the attention she stood up, slinging her bag over her shoulder. "Iruka-sensei, I have some important business to attend to, un. May I go, un?" She asked.
Iruka nodded and she left the classroom, hearing groans and complaints from her classmates behind her. When she arrived at the Hokage's office multiple jounin were already in there; they're probably the jounin sensei's. She wondered which one was her but she guessed she would find out later.
"Hey Old Man, un." She greeted the Hokage. It wasn't a serious occasion and she wasn't her for work so she reverted to a more friendlier term for her.
"Hitomi. I was expecting you here, did you come wondering about the teams?" The Hokage asked.
She smirked, "They don't call you the Hokage for nothing, un. Yes sir, specifically my team as you probably know. It's a little unbalanced, in terms of skill, un."
The Hokage nodded, "I put you on that team because I trust you most with watching the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki and the last Uchiha." He answered with a small smile.
