Hitomi's body went rigid as they came upon the boat. Sakura noticed-- because Hitomi was supporting her walking-- and looked to her. "Are you okay, Hitomi-chan?" She asked.
Hitomi nodded, "Yeah... I'm fine. I just hate boats... or any transportation that floats on water, un." She said.
Sakura nodded, "Alright. We'll get on together then." Sakura said then pulled Hitomi forward. Hitomi breathed out in a sigh and they both stepped on the boat. They sat down and once everyone was situated they went along quietly. Hitomi put her hands on the edge of her seat-- she needed a distraction-- so when Kakashi turned to Tazuna and confronted him about the ninja. Hitomi took lead in answering, she was on a information mission when she last came to the Land of the Waves.
"I can answer that Kakashi-- I'm sure Ibiki-nii told you we were on mission her a couple years ago." She interrupted. Kakashi looked to her, then nodded. Hitomi turned to Tazuna for permission to talk about it-- he was a resident there so it was up to him. Tazuna, too, nodded for Hitomi to continue. She let out a breath, calling up her memories.
"Two years ago, Ibiki-nii and I were called for a C rank mission. We were supposed to gather information on the status of the village under Gato. We couldn't do anything to help because of the insufficient funds but if it were called for Konoha could send in supplies to help for the building of the bridge. There was poverty in village and a couple of thieves-- the village was definitely poor but not as poor as I imagine it is now. Anyways, that bastard is greedy enough to keep on taking and taking and taking. He will never stop unless we finish that bridge or kill him finally, un." Hitomi said bitterly with her fist tightened into a ball. Tazuna nodded in agreement.
"The brat is right. So if you leave now they will kill me and this village will be doomed." He said.
Hitomi smiled and put a hand over Tazuna's, "Don't worry Tazuna-san, if you die, I'll personally kill Gato on your behalf." She said lightly. Tazuna laughed nervously while Hitomi's team sweat-dropped.
"Heh. Heh. Of course you will brat...." The old man muttered with a sigh. Kakashi looked between Tazuna and Hitomi.
"We'll stay with Tazuna, but you four have to be careful. This isn't a Rank C mission anymore, it's an A rank." Kakashi stated to his students with a serious tone. The others looked a little more on edge but Hitomi just fist pumped the air.
"Yes! This is gonna be so awesome, un." She cheered but the boat's navigator hushed her up quickly. They made it to shore and quickly Hitomi jumped off the boat-- then helped Sakura out.
"Thanks Hitomi-chan, but I think I'm good now. I can walk." Sakura said with a smile.
Hitomi nodded, a ghost of a smile appearing on her face before she turned and started to walk ahead on the road. The team followed behind and they continued in silence, that is until Naruto jumped slightly and threw a kunai into the woods. Hitomi sighed as Sakura scolded Naruto and hit him atop his head. She looked to where Naruto threw the kunai and sighed once more. She took a step closer to Naruto and grabbed his arm.
"You are off, throw this way, un." She said and moved his arm in the right direction, then she proceeded to tie a chakra string around the tip of the kunai. Then she moved into the same stance as Naruto and held her arm over his. Naruto blushed at how close his blonde teammate was.
"What are you doing Hitomi-chan? You are really close, dattebayo!" He said. Hitomi stayed straight faced and oblivious to how awkward their proximity was.
"You're throwing is awkward, Naruto-kun. Here, like this, un." She said and pulled his arm back and slowly moved it in the motion of throwing a couple of times. "Like that, now you try." She said and stepped back. Naruto did as she said and threw the kunai like so and got it in the right direction. Hitomi waited with narrowed eyes as she felt for the slightest twinge of the chakra string moving. Then she yanked the kunai back but Naruto had gotten in the way so she had to shift the the kunai hard to the right so it wouldn't hit them. Apparently no one else had seen that she was using a chakra string and Sakura yelled at Naruto for 'almost hitting a bunny.'
