Friends

My best friend (we'll call her Ally for now, but that's not her name) Ally got mad at me for something, and I didn't know what. Key word...didn't. She wouldn't talk to me for three days.

She called me Thomas and would not speak to me directly. I would talk to her, but she wouldn't acknowledge my presence. I was truly upset. I felt...lost. We had known each other for 11 years!

I was determined and I kept trying and trying. Nothing seemed to work...

Until today

At lunch, I was just eating a syrup covered waffle (yes...we had waffles for lunch. They sucked ;-; they were hard like bricks). I heard Ally say "you smell that?" And I expected to hear "betrayal" since she would do that when she said something like this. But she took me off guard. She said "it's the smell of forgiveness" and my face just lit up like a candle. She died laughing, something I had missed from her. I laughed as well and was close to tears. Had she not been on the opposite side of the table, I would've tackled her in a hug. I was so happy to have her back!

Now...why she was mad? She was mad because I just playfully threw a milk carton at her (no intent to hurt her or anything, just being silly) and it apparently hit her nose and it hurt her. Now, she didn't show any signs of being hurt, and she throw the carton back. I figured no harm done, she got back at me, and everything was fine, so I carried on through lunch, but she didn't talk to me the rest of the day. Then the next day rolled around and still didn't talk to me. I was a little upset at this. And she wouldn't talk to another one of our friends (well call her Tay), but she talked to my other friend (who I'll call Fran. Keep in mind, neither name is the real name). She said that Tay was an "accomplice" to my act. At this point, I had no idea why she was mad. She wouldn't talk to me, so I resorted to texting. She never responded.

The next day, I tried again. Texted her again, talked to her again, yet still no response came. I didn't know what to do and I was really upset about it.

The other reason Ally was mad at me was because of the message I had sent her. It said "friendships that last over seven years last forever. I'm not gonna let it go". It clearly says "over seven years" and that's true. We've been friends for 11 which is over 7. I mean...I can see where she's coming from there.

And the final reason, according to her (meaning she said this) was that she was petty XD

Now that she has forgiven me, she says she moved to "stage two": being annoying. I don't care. I'm just glad to have my best friend back. It doesn't matter at what cost...whether it be my patience or me getting my plush emoji deco on my backpack stolen every once in a while, I'm up for it!

I am glad I have my friend back and, despite her being a little annoying now, I'm happy and I wouldn't have it any other way 😄
