I am Sean William McLoughlin. Age twenty six. Many know me as Jacksepticeye. But one person...one person in my life has called me their own. One person called me sweetheart, lover, their personal ray of sunshine. And I called him that. That person, the one man that could put a smile on my face without fail, his name was Mark Edward Fishbach, or as many knew him, Markiplier. My special someone who I'd share my life with forever, if only...

Let's start from the beginning. The ride home.

I sat in the passengers seat, staring out of the window to my right at the passing trees and road signs, a few civilians, lights, and buildings crossed my line of sight as I stared. Then I looked to my left. He was sitting there, hands on the wheel, chocolate brown eyes straight ahead, a smile on his perfect face.

A small smile made its home on my own, ocean blue eyes gleaming in anticipation, nervousness, excitement, fear. Today was the day. Today I met his family again, outside of convention days. Outside of my job. I was meeting them for the very first time ever since Mark and I got together.

Mark pulled over into a gas station. The name on the sign read Sheetz. He glanced over at me, a tinge of nervousness sparked inside of him.

"Mark?" I asked.

He was turning to get out of the vehicle to pump gas into the nearly empty tank.

"Yea Jack?" He asked.

"W-what do you think your family will say about us. I'm honestly a little nervous," I said. Mark smiled my direction.

"Jack, they'll accept it, trust me," he said, cupping my chin and planting a kiss to my forehead. My face dimly lit up pink in the evening sun shining through the windows of the car. I smiled, warmth engulfing my insides. A fuzzy warmth. A warmth I shall never forget until the day I leave this Earth.

Mark got out and started to fill the tank. I pulled my phone out to see a text from Wade. He and Molly were doing okay at Disneyland, enjoying spending time together. I giggled a bit at the photo Wade sent. Molly had on a pair of Minnie ears and Wade had on Mickey ears. Shopping bags in either hand. A Mickey-shaped balloon gently floated in the breeze behind Molly, tied to her wrist in a way a child would hold a balloon. The Disney castle lay behind them, setting an absolutely perfect scene.

Mark got back into the car and looked at the photo on my screen.

"They're adorable aren't they?" He asked. I looked at him, smiled, and nodded.

"Yea. They are. I wish that were us. In front of the castle, like a prince and a princess. Happily ever after," I said.

If only I knew that in reality, happily ever afters are just a thing of fiction and fairy tales.
