I grabbed a slice of pizza from the box and stuffed it into my mouth.

"Do you want a slice?" I said while chewing messily.

Ethan chuckled and continued to stay still in his bed. "It's all yours."

"Are you sure?" I smirked and grabbed a slice and walked over to his bed, "Are you sure you don't want this greasy, cheesy, fat, fresh piece of pizza?"

My face was only a couple of inches away from his and I took a bite of the slice of pizza, the stringy mozzarella cheese hanging down after I bit into it. I chewed noisily by his ear like a cow, making him furrow his eyebrows in disgust.

"I'm 1000% sure now be quiet okay?" he reached over to his speaker and turned on his music on high volume.

Hi, bye hater, I flood the club with paper
Shawty got a ass, some for now, some for later
Somethin' like Nicki's, dancin' like Maliah
I'm throwin' all this money I'ma fuck around and buy her
I can flick the money all night 'til my wrist tired
If you put in work, this the night you gon' retire
You a bad bitch, I ain't even gon' deny her
She told me "throw that money", I said "make it worth my while"

I covered by ears and turned his speaker off.

"You call that music?" I looked at him as if he was crazy.

"It's a good song," Ethan reached over to his speaker to turn it back on again.

I grabbed the speaker and held it in my hands so it was out of his reach, "Songs about strippers? Thats whats you're into?"

"Sure," he shrugged, "Give me my speaker back please."

I shook my head and placed it on the counter. I connected my phone to the speaker and started searching through my spotify playlists.

I clicked on my Mozart playlist and listened to the happy piano melody. The piano was light and delicate, like a ballerina doing pique turns across the floor.

"What the hell is this??" Ethan covered his ears and laid back in his bed.

"This is music," I replied, "real music."

"From the 1800s," Ethan continued to stay ducked under in his sheets, "You're a little behind."

"That's your opinion, not mine."

"Change the fucking song," he uncovered his ears and gave me an annoyed look.

I shook my head casually and continued to eat my pizza.

"I got you that," Ethan pointed to the slice of pizza, "I deserve something in return."

"Fine," I groaned and changed back the song, making it a lot quieter than it previously was.

"Thank you princess," he smirked.

"Don't call me princess," I crossed my arms.

"Aw come on baby girl," Ethan frowned, "don't be so disappointed."

I scoffed, "Princess, baby girl, whats next?"

"Angel," he smiled, "because you're perfect."

I felt the heat rise to my cheeks and I smiled.

"And you're the most innocent girl I have ever met."

I rolled my eyes and furiously threw the empty pizza box into the trashcan.

"Disappointed again?" Ethan smirked.

I glanced at him and turned my back towards him, as if I was a little toddler.

"You know, I don't really mind," Ethan chuckled, "I'm enjoying the view."

I turned around and scoffed, "Goddammit Ethan."

He laughed lightly, "I only speak the truth."

I pushed him down the long narrow hallway to his next appointment. The wheels on his wheelchair squeaked the whole way and he stayed silent. Ethan's next appointment wasn't going to determine anything extra important, it was more so like a check up--the annual checkups you get to make sure you're healthy. Except in Ethan's case, the doctor's are just making sure his heart isn't getting any worse. Unless they find out that another tumor has grown in his heart, then he's supposed to be perfectly fine. His papers and the information his previous nurses have told me show that he has been doing great recently, and has a big chance of recovering very soon.

"Ethan?" a nice woman called out, "Ethan Dolan?"

"That's us," I smiled at her kindly and helped Ethan into his wheelchair.

I wheeled him into the examination room and sat down by one of the cushioned chairs close to the door. The doctor had very chiseled cheekbones, dark eyes, and was in about her thirties. She reminded me of my mother, and she was very gentle and kind to Ethan.

If my mom was here with me right now, I wonder how she would react to the whole idea of him. The whole idea that I'm succeeding, and the fact that I'm taking care of an extremely attractive boy the same age as me.

Would she be the overly-protective mother who wouldn't even let me talk to the boy? Would she be excited for me? Would she not even care at all?

The doctor placed the stethoscope onto his chest and listened to his heartbeat. She moved it around, and her reaction was casual. She gave him a nod saying that everything was fine, and instructed him to lay down. She put the x-ray camera over him and covered the rest of his body with a protective sheet. I watched her play with a few buttons on the x-ray machine, and a picture popped onto the screen beside her.

"Your heart hasn't grown any new tumors," she informed, "but your heart has been very sensitive recently, so don't do anything too extreme."

Ethan took a sigh of relief.

"Is this your new nurse?" she smiled at me.

"Yeah," I replied, "I'm Lauren."

"You're a very beautiful young woman," she shook my hand, "be sure to take care of him."

"Thank you, I will," I assured and smiled back.

I waved at her and wheeled Ethan back to his room.
