I snuck back into the hospital and took Ethan back to his room immediately.
We exchanged our goodbyes and I soon headed out the door.
I pulled my phone out of my pocket to check the time.
12:13am
"Shit," I muttered to myself.
I stepped into my car and drove back home. My heart beat with anxiety and my palms started to sweat.
As I pulled up to my house I slammed the car door and tiptoed inside, hoping that I wouldn't awaken my father.
"Look who's back," the beast said, making his way over to me.
"Get the fuck away from me," I growled.
He chuckled and spit the cigarette that was dangling from his mouth onto the ground.
"Pick that shit up, I'm not touching it." I crossed my arms.
"Not my job," he spat, "But right now your job is to explain why you were gone yesterday and why you got back so late today."
"Why the fuck do you care? You might as well get used to me not being here. I'm moving out pretty soon."
I turned to leave but I felt him grab onto my wrist and pull me back.
"Oh you're not going anywhere," he smirked.
"Let go of me now," I demanded.
I shook his hand off of my wrist noticing the red and purple marks his tight grip left.
"Go get yourself another personal servant, I won't be here to pick up after you and your bullshit anymore."
"You have no place to go, have fun living on the streets," he laughed, taking a sip of the beer he had in his hand.
"Paris," I blurted out, "I'm going to Paris."
He laughed hysterically, "Paris?!"
I swallowed the lump in my throat, "Y-yes."
"The farther away from your dirty ass, the better."
His eyes widened and he pushed me against the wall, his hands around my neck.
I could feel his hot breath on my face, it smelled of liquor and nicotine.
"Get your dirty hands off of me," I coughed out.
He gripped onto my neck even tighter, closing up my throat. I could feel myself gagging and I held onto his wrists trying to pull his hands away.
His grip stayed tight on my neck.
I kneed him and watched him fall towards the floor.
"I should have done this a long time ago."
I ran upstairs and pulled my phone out of my pocket.
"Get your ass back here, I'm not done with you yet!"
I ignored his demand and dialed 911.
"911, what's your emergency?"
"H-hello?" I said shakily.
I felt my voice quiver and my eyes well up with tears.
"M-my d-dad-"
I paused and took deep breaths.
"Ma'am, I can't understand what you're saying. I need you to stay calm."
"My dad, h-he's turned into a monster. He's been abusive for a while now and I-I need help."
"What is your address?"
"3415 Woodhurst Drive."
"We have someone on their way, stay calm, don't panic."
"Thank you."
I hung up and peeped outside my door. I watched my father over the stairs.
There was vomit on the floor and he held onto the wall for support. He screamed and slammed all of the decor we had on the wall onto the floor.
I felt a tear roll down my cheek and my throat close up.
"I'm sorry."
I heard sirens in front of our house and the door was barged open by 3 policemen. I watched him scream and squirm while he got dragged out of the house in a pair of silver handcuffs.
After he had left, I cleaned up the mess he had left for the last time.
I felt empty yet relieved. I took a deep shaky breath and unlocked my phone.
