Chapter 8:

“Are you sure you’re ready?” I asked fully determined. I was crouched down with my jogging suit on and my hair pulled in a high bun, oh and I can’t forget my pink head band that went over my eyebrows slightly. Don’t judge me.

“I’m on a mission tonight” I said speaking like a drunk Dracula “and this mission involves blood and lots of it” I clenched and un-clenched my hands and cracked my neck and stretched.

“Alright!” I yelled “let’s do this!” then I let out a war cry that would have made the hulk proud.

I shuffled on the ground almost ruining the soft grass with my yellow tennis shoes. Yes I was Mitch matched. Don’t judge me.

Concentrate. Concentrate. Breathe. Breathe.

“Oh for the love of peace, will just turn into that freakin’ Squirrel already!” a voice yelled and it was none other than Brianna.

Well to fill you in on this little situation right now I am trying to learn my new abilities by practicing. And I was into the mood until I was RUDELY interrupted.

“Excuse me I am trying to get my Squirrel on” I said huffing and puffing because I kind of wore myself out with all the bouncing.

“Kelly you’re trying to turn into a Squirrel not a Dinosaur” she said rolling her eyes.

I just ignored her but not before sticking my tongue at her.

Okay back to the task at hand I got on my hands and knees and became on with the Squirrel.

I took another deep breath and looked into the Squirrels black beady eyes and I think I had its trust because it suddenly climbed up my arm and then on top of my head.

And what I was thinking was this: Omg! This Squirrel is going to snap my neck!

But then the little brown thing on top my head bent its head down on top of mine and when it did that its forehead was upside down on top of mine and that’s when I felt it.

It’s like eating a peppermint mint and that minty tingly feeling is spreading through your body like a flood.

It felt cool and right then all I could think about was climbing a tree.

I closed my eyes and enjoyed the mint feeling and when I opened my eyes everything was different.

First it was my height I was the height of a soda can. I stretched out my arms and indeed I was a Squirrel.

My fur was a light brown or blonde looking color, I looked around me and I could hear bird’s chirping and the gasp of my friends behind me.

Oh the dramatics, the only reason my friends are here in my backyard is because I didn’t want my parents here.
