It is said that when the Gods came, they bought a new age along with them. There were 12 main Gods in total, five females and seven males. Their names were - Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter, Athena, Hephaestus, Apollo, Artemis, Ares, Aphrodite and Dionysus. There is another main Goddess called Hestia. However, she gave up her throne on Mount Olympus for Dionysus. This way she prevented a civil war among the Gods. Now, Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hera, Demeter and Hestia were the children of Kronos and Rhea. As mentioned in the previous chapter, the Gods had a ten year war with the Titans. They won this war and established a new age on Earth. Hephaestus and Ares are the children of Zeus and Hera. Athena, Apollo, Artemis and Dionysus are also the children of Zeus but their mothers are different.
