-Percy
Ok, I've got to admit, even Annabeth has no idea what's going on. Which is unfortunate for me, since now she's coming up with hundreds of boring theories about how we got here. Probably because she just didn't want to admit that what was happening was simply impossible.
Anyways, we woke up on the docks, tangled in a fisher's net. A bearded old man was yelling obscenities, spitting all over our faces.
"Seriously! I'm fishing for salmon and what do I find? Teenagers!" The man said teenagers the same way other people might say sea cucumber.
The man continued yelling and people gathered around.
"Fell from the bloomin' sky, they did! Trying to die to not be picked for the Hunger Games, probably!" The fisher shouted, getting a laugh from the crowd.
Hunger Games? I thought. Was it some kind of race to eat the most burgers in a minute? If it was that, they could sign me up, because I was hungry to the point that my stomach felt like washing machine. And burgers sounded like a great idea at the moment.
Unfortunately, if the man had implied that people would be ready to die to escape them, I had a feeling it was something much, much worse than that.
Annabeth had heard the phrase too. "Excuse me, sir," she said, trying to be as calm as possible. "What's the Hunger Games?"
The crowd that had gathered around us burst out laughing - as if what she'd said was some kind of a joke.
I saw a man in the crowd snicker. "Excuse me, sir?" He laughed in a stupid falsetto voice. I don't know why, but what he'd just said made me angrier than ever. I turned red with rage, and stood up, only halfly conscient of what I was doing.
I growled, my voice trembling with anger, "Don't you dare mimic my girlfriend."
Annabeth started saying, "Percy..." but it was too late. I had already summoned the seawater next to us, and a huge wave crashed onto the man. The crowd scattered, shocked. But they surely weren't as stunned as I was. I stared at the man, now lying unconscious on the ground. Why on earth had I done that? This was going to get us serious problems.
